I’ve always been a little apprehensive about tulle skirts: while I hear all the time about how “Carrie Bradshaw” they are, and see others looking perfectly whimsical in them, I never really saw myself pulling them off very well. Maybe it has to do with the fact that being petite, I’ve felt like it would overwhelm my frame… or because I feared looking like a child playing dress up, since my Asian genes often make me look younger than I am. Pared down with simple neutral pieces, though, this black one from local brand Beautulleful is a statement without swallowing me up, and the dark hue adds just the right amount of ‘grown-up’ edge. Consider it a change of heart!

That is a STUNNING skirt! I love the length of it! I have a black tulle skirt but it’s much shorter. This one is just so much more classy.
This is a trend that I haven’t tried yet, dear Jen…but YOU look totally amazing!! I think going with black was a great idea; together with the tortoiseshell sunnies, it gives the piece a bit of edge and maturity that balances out the whimsy of the tulle!! Very well done!!
