Out of all the positive things that blogging has brought (and fellow bloggers know that there are many!), one of the best aspects is that it’s driven me out of my comfort zone in many ways. One such way has been in my style and beauty risks: just last year I definitely would not have had the guts to try out a bright fuschia lipstick, but last week I boldly wandered into the lipstick aisle (for the first time in my life, no less) during a trip to the drugstore and in the vast array of options picked up this one. After searching for it online afterward, I realized that I had by chance gotten one of the most loved colours out there!

I’m curious: how has blogging influenced you?

Wearing: Zara silk blouse (from Spain two years ago), skirt and sandals, LOFT shimmer cardi, Coach bag, Tom Ford Anouk sunnies, pearls from India, lips: Revlon Colorburst in Fuscia

  1. The fuchsia lipstick looks great on you! I’ve definitely started to use bold lipstick more as I am inspired by other bloggers who use it. I just hate when it rubs off when I eat ahah.

  2. This lipstick is such a pretty color on you! I have yet to wonder into the lipstick aisle.

I think blogging has helped me become more creative in what I wear. I mean I’m not super daring or anything now, but I am more comfortable with what I used to be.

  3. Reading blogs has given me a desire to work more color into my outfits and recognize good fit…I have a poor sense of fit…always thinking I should size up in case I get bigger. I don’t think this is normal at all…:(

  4. Yes you are right, I feel much more bolder now and I have the guts to experiment things and feel fabulous! I am not embarrased to wear heels anymore since I am very tall, I just adore them now.
Great outfit here! I so love that skirt and the bag :D

  11. you look AWESOME in that shade of revlon..love it!
yes…blogging does definitely push us to take risks…for me it keeps me on my “game” and ensures no “mom” sweats become my everyday wear, lol.
Hope you had a great weekend.

  14. You’ve been wearing such bold colours lately – they look great on you!

Blogging has influenced me in sooo many ways. I’ve discovered so many new items (beauty products) to try based on other blogger’s reviews. Same things fashion-wise. Oh! And I started wearing belts as “accessories” for the first time! Haha

  15. You look fantastic in the bold colors! When it comes to blogging, it’s really pushed me to be more put together, figure new outfits, and remember them. Plus, it’s easier to see how things fit and look as opposed to what I think looks good. =)

  16. I just bought that zara skirt (or one very similar). It’s amazing!

I just can’t bring myself to go tightless yet so i’m saving it until I can!

You look so pretty here. I love that lipstick colour on you!

  18. I’m so glad to see your risks because they’re gorgeous. This outfit is so great, so bold and bright. It makes me think the woman wearing it is a confident, incredible person with flair. =)

Blogging has definitely inspired by style. Like you said, it inspires greater risk-taking in terms of stepping outside your typical comfort zone of clothes.

  19. Great skirt and I’m loving the whole look.
That color of green is so fabulous for spring!

  20. Okay, I have to get that lipstick! Lovely! And your whole outfit, as always, is completely darling. Still adore the Tom Ford sunnies and that bag is beyond words.

Blogging has definitely given me more confidence in so many ways. Prior to it I was insecure about my shape and size and in short I didn’t quite feel entitled to have an interest in fashion; blogging introduced me to the real fashionistas of the world, all their shapes and sizes and perfections and imperfections. It helps you to realize that style isn’t just for celebrities and runway models, you know? Beyond that and on the same wavelength, I’ve realized that I can wear so much more and really enjoy fashion. I’m starting to indulge in color and even bought a pair of white pants last week – something I never would have expected myself capable of, being New York-born and thus in possession of an entirely black wardrobe. ;)

  21. ooh, this is such an amazing outfit and the lipstick colour is the perfect accent. I’m also smitten with your beautiful shoes & bag -SO heavenly! Hope you had a fantastic weekend and how fabulous was that sun!! xx veronika

  22. that lipstick looks so amazing with the green skirt! blogging has definitely helped me step out of my comfort zone. now i wear things because i think they look good and i want to wear them, and think less about what other people think about it :)

  23. Bloggers prtty much tell me what to buy next. And they make sure that I love what I buy.

  24. love love love this! the bright skirt, the bag, the fuschia lipstick…everything just works.

blogging has inspired me to go out and try new things, as well: recipes, restaurants, fashion, experiences. i have a more optimistic view on life, which i love. other bloggers are so wonderful, beautiful and positive that it inspires me to be the same.

  25. this fuschia lipstick looks gorgeous on you!! i’m loving the hot pink lipstick trend and i don’t think i would’ve been brave enough to try it either if it weren’t for blogging! :)

    cute & little

  26. I have that same shade, Revlon in Fuchsia Fusion! I love it. Moisturizing and yet still matte!

The graphic drape T is both really, really cool, and gives visual interest to your outfit, but also gives you a really cool vibe.

    I want that bag.

Blogging… has introduced me to my best friends. All but 1. Even my husband. I’ll have to tell you about it someday.

  27. Pretty! Love the fuchsia lipstick and green miniskirt together–talk about taking the colour-blocking trend and making it work for you.

I’m usually leery of buying drugstore lipsticks because I don’t want a formula that doesn’t wear well. How does the Revlon Colorburst formula compare to department store brands?

  28. The kelly green skirt and fuschia lip color make me smile :D Again, I love how you wear bright colors with such elegance :) Blogging has influenced my personal style in so many ways. For example, I used to be a “jeans girl” and now, I own more skirts than jeans! Also, I’ve started wearing heels regularly since I started blogging. I can’t believe how much better the view is from up here! Hahahahaha :D

  32. That bright green skirt and your red lips make this outfit. It’s the ultimate 3 Cs : Casual, Classy, and Cool. =)

And blogging I think has made me appreciate fashion and my own closet alot more. It’s more fun to see how many ways I can wear the things in my closet. I mean I still love shopping (nothings going to change that!) but it’s definitely helped me become a little more creative with what I have. =)

  33. I absolutely agree, blogging has definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I am so thankful that it did! It just gives that extra motivation to try something new and I just get so much inspiration from other bloggers that I feel I need to try things out! I love this bright lip on you, it’s so pretty! Also head over heels for this skirt! Gorgeous as always, lady!

  34. I love that lipstick! Such a fabulous colour on you! And also that green skirt. I have been eyeing those at zara but haven’t gotten around to picking one up yet.

Blogging definitely has encouraged me to try lots of new things – be it DIY, a new beauty trick, or wearing something I normally might not have considered – it has been pretty positive overall I think!
