Heat Wave

We’ve had a bit of a heatwave in Vancouver over the past couple of weeks. And since us West-coasters are essentially useless when it comes to any sort of weather “extremity”, there’s been a lot of devising on ways to keep cool. One such solution has been to wear a lot of light coloured, loose pieces. Baggy clothing can be a hard to pull off well for those of us who aren’t model-thin, but defining the waist is one amazing trick that really does let you get away with all kinds of things. These high waisted culottes from a few years ago (seen back in 2011 here!) have really served their purpose well, and have sort of become my personal standard for any shorts I will own from here on out. What have you been living in this summer?

Simple Summer

Hello! Apologies that things have been a little quieter around here lately… I suppose that’s a sign of a good, full summer. The past few months have been wonderful and purposeful – lots of good conversation over coffee dates, working with a close girlfriend, Erin, and spending a lot of my downtime reading. I’ve also recently taken up tennis (after a spontaneous pick up game – can I call it that?), being ‘coached’ by a friend and having so much fun with it! To keep things simple and easy on the sartorial front I’ve been keeping my wardrobe pretty consistent, mixing and matching lots of neutrals, chambray/denim, and pops of red and gold. How’s your summer been so far?
