I am very blessed to have a sweet boyfriend who has wanted to seriously learn and improve his photography since I started this blog (and has he ever). One way he does this is through regularly checking out photography blogs, and once in a while he comes across something that he wants to replicate. He called me today to tell me to “dress edgily” and that he had a great idea for a shoot. So off we went to this muddy construction area: I can’t exactly say that it was completely legal to enter into this location for the photos, but hey.. whatever you have to do right?? ;)

And since we’re on the topic of full disclosure here… no, it definitely wasn’t warm enough to comfortably wear this outfit today. Come on, sunshine– it’s April already!

  1. Aww, what a sweet & cool boyfriend! He did a great job with these photos. I’m trying to teach my boy how to operate a camera & be handy, since he’s usually around when I take my photos. Hahah.

Anyways, you look stunning as always!

  4. I really want that skirt.

I was in Club Monaco today, browsing the sale rack, and I totally splurged, even though I’m on a shopping ban. SO much for that.

But CM has so much amazing stuff, I can’t help it! :)

    Lovely, as always.

  10. Love love love this outfit, but also love the fact that your boyfriend is such a sweetheart! That’s so nice that he actually throws himself into the photography, and his vision worked out perfectly…I love how your outfit is edgy but still femme, it contrasts so nicely with the construction site. Love the pop of red in the lipstick too.

As for the illegal photo sessions… The other day I was told by the security guy it’s not allowed to take pictures in the supermarket area! I even had to delete already taken pics from my camera!!!

  15. Awww lucky you. My boyfriend never offers to take my pictures, I always have to ask for it! He’s supportive of my blog, though, just in his own way (whatever way that is, hahahha!) :D

I love how your “edgy look” still has elegance to it. The half tucked-in blouse is a nice detail, too! :)

Re: How I still my ponytail lately –> I curl the ends of my hair with a straightening iron first before I put my hair up in a ponytail. It doesn’t work if I do it the other way around :(

  21. I love how even your edgy outfits are seriously sophisticated. And you really are quite lucky to have a boyfriend who’s into photography! The boy and I had this conversation last night:

Boy: “I wonder what it’d be like if I were into photography.”
Me: (joking) “My blog would be a lot better because you could follow me around and take pictures all the time.”

I guess I’ll just have to settle for the fact that he’s an amazing dancer. :)

  22. Hello Jen, thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog, it means so much. I absolutely adore your gorgeous & feminine style -so pretty! And you are lucky that your man is so into photography, these pictures are just lovely. I adore the industrial setting against your outfit. xx veronika

On most recent post…TOTALLY agree…we have to get creative and rework pieces in our closet…or we will all go broke, lol.
Some days I feel like my blog inspires me to closet dive and other days I feel like it aids my shopping addiction. Oh vey.
