While I’ve always fancied the idea of dresses with low-cut backs, cutouts, for some reason, had been a completely different story. To me, a low-cut back could be seen as subtly sensual, whereas cutouts typically seemed a little too “look-at-me!” for my liking. As soon as I saw the demure shape and feminine details of this ShopSosie number, however, I decided that I wanted to take a chance. It ended up working out well: the dress fit like a glove and I felt perfectly pretty for a late summer date night (likely the last one of the year… tear!) this past weekend.

Wearing: ShopSosie dress (c/o) – unfortunately sold out but here’s a similar style, Zara shoes, MICHAEL Michael Kors clutch (similar), Banana Republic necklace (old), House of Harlow 1960 sunnies, bfrend and Lauren Elan bracelets, Chanel Lotus Rouge nails, MAC lip pencil in Brick

  1. I’m seeing so many black and white dress posts today, but this one is definitely a stand out. You look fantastic. And did you change up the layout of the blog? Maybe just the header? Either way, it looks good. :)

  4. Love this cutout dress! You’re right that sometimes the cuts can be too “out there,” but I think in this case, it shows it off subtly in a classy way.
Loving the new blog lay out too!!!

  5. What a gorgeous dress, Jen! Like you, I like low cut backs but somehow consider cutouts to be a different, less subtle, beast. You’ve definitely proven otherwise with this lovely and delicate dress, though. The bow detail on the front is just too sweet! I’m loving the new, refreshed look of your blog, too. Hope you’re well :)

  8. Such a lovely dress! I’m a frequent reader of yours, but it seems as if your new design is somehow problematic for my laptop? Or is it only me that Jen’s blog needs way longer to load than before??

By the way, I mentioned you in one of my posts a few days ago. I hope that’s okay :)https://petitesaigon.wordpress.com/2012/08/25/blue-like-the-ocean-as-golden-as-the-sun-2/
