We’ve had a bit of a heatwave in Vancouver over the past couple of weeks. And since us West-coasters are essentially useless when it comes to any sort of weather “extremity”, there’s been a lot of devising on ways to keep cool. One such solution has been to wear a lot of light coloured, loose pieces. Baggy clothing can be a hard to pull off well for those of us who aren’t model-thin, but defining the waist is one amazing trick that really does let you get away with all kinds of things. These high waisted culottes from a few years ago (seen back in 2011 here!) have really served their purpose well, and have sort of become my personal standard for any shorts I will own from here on out. What have you been living in this summer?

Wearing: YesStyle blouse, Aritzia culottes and vest (both old), Sole Society sandals (c/o – on sale and available in a few colours), GiGi New York clutch, Jeweliq cuff

  1. Oh so cute! I love how you paired the denim vest with the neutral tones! And great accessories!

  2. For some reason I thought this look was a romper. But upon further inspection it is not! Loving this look Jen. Really love the neutral vibes. I definitely need to add more light colored items to my wardrobe, instead of dark and black. Great summer look.
