Sideswept

When I first started thinking about my bridal beauty look, I decided pretty much right off the bat that I wanted to use florals or foliage in my hair in some way. However, I also knew that I wanted to go beyond the usual flower crown, since it’s never really felt like my style. We’d hired Michelle Hodgson of Blossom and Vine Floral Co to do our wedding flowers, and when I told her this she took on the challenge to create three very different pieces for me to try out!

To really bring her creations to life, we partnered up with a few other talented local vendors and came up with full looks around the pieces. The first piece we worked with was a large greenery comb made up of Italian Ruscus and Queen Pittisporum. Textured and substantial, I loved the way it made a statement without being over the top. We went with a natural make up look and paired it with a retro inspired, deep side part, and the greenery was perfect for bringing some modernity into the overall vibe.

Stay tuned for the other two looks we put together — the next one is coming up in a couple of days!
