Although my friends would disagree, I often don’t feel brave enough to step out of my comfort zone sartorially. As I was putting this look together last week, I changed my mind several times as I considered whether white shoes with black tights would look off, or if the faux fur headband was “too much”. Ultimately, I decided to just go for it, reminding myself that it didn’t really matter if it really did end up looking ridiculous. It was a good reminder to not take myself so seriously and that clothing choices should be fun. Happy Monday!

  1. Sometimes I go out wearing an utterly ridiculous outfit but then I just tell myself it’s a contribution to discovering my personal style :) You look so cute anyway!

  2. love this look! it looks very vintage and classic :) i find myself second guessing looks sometimes as well!

  3. You look cute wearing a fur headband with your hair down. I have a similar one but for some reason I only wear it when I have my hair up. Happy Monday!

  4. Oh, don’t worry, I feel that way sometimes too, even though I am definitely the most sartorially-minded of my friend circle. And hey, even if you do end up looking ridiculous, you can always just say you were being “avante-garde”. Haha. Love the outfit. :)

  6. Jen, sometimes its good to take risks and go outside of your comfort zone for the sake of fashion, and you did such a good job! That leopard print skirt I just love (I have a weakness for that print) and the fur headband is adorable. xo

  7. I love coming across this sort of reminder and inspiration, to take risks and just remember to have fun with our style. Practice makes perfect, caring less and less what people may think of your outfit. I’m still working on it myself.
Plus, what really polishes off a great outfit like this is a smile. =)

  8. The great thing about fashion is if you try and it doesn’t work you’ll know for next time. But if you don’t give it a try how will you know. And it’s not like its a life changing decision lol . Great post Jenny and you look gorgeous. So you should take more risks because they seem to be working for you

  9. I’m glad you took this fashion risk but you created a gorgeous look! The white shoes don’t look strange at all with your opaque black tights and the fur headband is an adorable topper. Glad you’re getting such great use out of your new coat too!

  10. You could wear boots on your head and look good. I hope you didn’t feel too self-conscious to have fun in this, because you are incredibly chic!

  16. Love this pally! It’s true, I think especially when you have a blog riding on your styling choices, it can be hard to always style looks together purely for fun. This all came together beautifully though…very Russian in a way, in the best way possible! Can’t wait to see you tomorrow :)
