Late last week we were treated to what was, in my opinion, the first truly warmish afternoon of the year (which was of course negated by a snowstorm that promptly followed by weekend). Even so, this sparked the excitement of pulling out summery pieces, like sheer patterned blouses and shorts. I can’t wait to wear these tweed shorts for slightly dressier al fresco dinner dates during warm summer nights, but for now they make a great heavier, cooler weather appropriate piece when grounded with camel tones and tights.

Wearing: YesStyle coat, blouse and shorts, vintage Ferragamo belt, DKNY bag, River Island sunnies, Lauren Elan (thin) and bfrend bracelets, Zara pumps

  2. Never seen you in shorts before! Love the thick (tweed) meets thin (chiffon) fabrics in this outfit :) Also love how you didn’t tie the bow, it made this outfit look more casual (yet still well-put together) :)

  3. The sun is such a tease because it makes me think it’s warmer than it really is and I get too excited. I love the combo of polka dots and tweed, such a great look Jen!

  6. Adorable! The smokey orange polka dots are a cute and slightly unconventional print complimented by varying shades of camel. The tweed shorts are great; tweed always has a rich texture and the heaviness adds to its luxury. Topped off with those sunglasses, this is a charming look!

  7. I love all of the warm neutral shades in this look, Jen – such a good reminder that neutrals do not have to be boring, as long as you’re willing to be adventurous with textures and prints! I absolutely love the combination of your coat and purse with those tweed shorts, they all look like one very happy fashion family :)

I hope your week is off to a great start!

I love all the warm tones and your legs look unreal in those shorts! So stunning! And yes please, feed me one day haha. I can pack away a lot so I can help you with your mass quantities of crepes.

  12. SO gorgeous as always Jen, I love how you manage to make shorts look classy (!) how? I don’t know. I particularly adore how you tied everything in with the structured purse and those sunnies with the gold accents.

P.S. I’m too much of a goof to not share pictures of myself that are so extremely giggle-inducing. I’ll scare away all potential readers indefinitely. ;)

  23. Love everything about this outfit. The concept seems so simple, but I love how you play with texture and patterns. I think the shoes give the whole outfit a slight vintage feel to it; lovely. I look forward to building a closet, so to speak, like yours: filled with color, prints and texture. I have some, but not quite enough, haha. =)

  24. Oh, I love those pumps (I know I’m the nth person to say that, but still). Looks like it will score a lot of hits for a girl on the best dating site if she wears a pair of those.
