I, like many others, completely cringe at the sight & sound of myself on camera. When local boutique Barefoot Contessa asked if I wanted to collaborate with them to make a video, though, I had to give it a chance. I still feel a little apprehensive about posting this up as I am clearly nervous and awkward in the video (I swear I don’t look this mean in real life!). However, I’m rather happy with the professionalism of the editing thanks to Paul Milaire and Roderick Fung (see their photographic work with me here), who graciously lent their videography skills and made the experience much more enjoyable than it would have been without them.

So without further ado, here’s my first foray into the world of video: a short clip where I offer a bit of insight on how to transition your summer pieces into fall.

  1. I LOVED the video! You should totally start making youtube videos, it would be great to see what other style pairings you come up with =)

  2. Great video! thos are nice tips. Do tell me, how do you wear the dress as a top in pants? Does it look bulky?

I know you usually do that with skirts, but pants have a crutch, so was wondering how it goes for them.

    Than you!

  3. Awww you did a great job!! You don’t look mean at all! I also hate being on video/public speaking. Huggge issue for me!

  4. Aw, Jen, you are gorgeous!! I am smitten with the outfit you are wearing here, that green blouse is stunning, especially with the gold necklace! And I love the ones you style up, especially the first outfit! (All about the burgundy right now!) Your feminine styling is always so inspiring!

  5. You should do more videos, Jen! It’s always fun to see how bloggers transition from pictures into video :)

  8. Haha the ending was so cute! You did a fantastic job styling the pieces and I really dig the Yann Tiersen ‘Amelie’ soundtrack.

  9. Awww Jen! What a fantastic little vid. You did get. And I love the pieces you styled.

I know what you mean about being on camera. I feel like anytime someone is recording me, my voice suddenly becomes so high pitched. LOL. It’s werid. I don’t look naturally at all in front of a video camera. hahah.

Happy Tuesday, girl. Gosh, I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had time to post anything on my blog. Hopefully I can post some updates later this week.

    xx Love & Aloha
