Bubble

May 2, 2013

As all girls who weren’t blessed with long, slim legs would agree, it can be a little tricky to find a summer appropriate bottom that flatters when wearing flat shoes. Enter the bubble skirt: fun, whimsical, and never too serious, this silhouette creates enough volume up top to create the illusion of leaner legs – even without a heel. I’m officially hooked!
Wearing: YesStyle dress (c/o), Vince Camuto blouse, Salvatore Ferragamo flats, Coach bag, vintage belt

p.s. I recently entered some of my instagram photos in the Vanity Fair Best Dressed Challenge (the winner gets featured in their September Issue!). If you’re so inclined, I‘d love it if you voted for my looks here. Thank you – xo!

    I have a similar figure and I have always struggled finding skirts that flatter my legs so I will definitely have to check out this bubble skirt style (:

    Agreed! I am short and short legged as well and skirts and dresses with flats are so hard! I typically gravitate toward these styles.

    i always have a hard time finding skirts that are the perfect length to wear to work but still make my legs appear longer with flats. i’ll have to look into the bubble skirt and see if it would work for me!

    Love how you layered the button up underneath the dress; adds a wonderful layer of complexity to the outfit and it’s very cute! And pft, about your legs, they look like they could outrun anyone which is more than I can say for myself!

    I’m not blessed with long & lean legs at all – they’re quite athletic. But I agree with you wholeheartedly – any bubble skirt really makes my legs look long!

    Love the texture of the dress you’re sporting – it’s gorgeous!

    Jen, I hear you!! This dress looks so great. When I think of “bubble” skirts, I think of 90s matte jersey dresses. Thanks for sharing such a cute option for us shorter ladies. (;
