I’ve been finding it a little difficult to create outfits that look well put together this winter: since keeping warm has been the most important factor for me, I’ve honestly become accustomed to just layering my coziest sweaters without much thought to the cohesiveness of a look. The result has been a toasty, but unfortunately often jumbled mess of fabric. Wearing different pieces in similar hues has been one of the easiest solutions to this, and is one that I will likely be using again and again in the coming months.

Wearing: Mackage coat (old), thrifted blouse, H&M jacket, YesStyle skirt, Coach bag, Zara pumps
You look fabulous! Great layering.

I agree. It is so cold in Vancouver right now. What tights are you wearing to keep you warm when wearing cute skirts like this one you have on?
Really rich colours in your outfit (: I like the pop of pattern from your belt. Hope that you had a good weekend!
Yay for Mackage! I love the coats! I have one myself and I love the cut 🙂
loving your outfit, your heels are to die for!!

That’s a really really really beautiful outfit! Love your coat and your heels! ♥ The colors match perfect!
All my favorite colors! Love the bag and must tell you I bought those shoes after seeing them on your blog 🙂 Have a great week!
I’m a (fairly) new follower, and I just have to pipe up to say that I love your style – it’s so classy and put together!
I totally know what you mean about dressing warm for the outdoors equating to a “jumbled mess of fabric” – it’s one of the things I find most challenging about winter. But your idea about staying within the same color palette is a good one – definitely going to keep that in mind when I get dressed for a day out on the town.
Love these colors together, and that white coat looks so chic, beautiful look Jen!

Been following your blog for quite a while now and this is my first time commenting…Love how you put your clothes together and how everything goes so well together, and you look amazing as always. Looking forward to your next post dear…
I absolutely love this look, all the colours in it are perfection! I totally know what you mean about the challenges between warmth vs. style, I usually just opt for style and try to walk really briskly while I’m outside haha. Hope your week’s off to a good start lovely pal!

Oh Jen, how I’ve missed your gorgeous face and your impeccable style. I wish we lived near and I wish I were as teeny as you, then I’d ask to raid your closet!! ha ha.
That coat is amazing and I adore that skirt as well. The detail at the hemline is fab. I want to make one for myself. I have this perfect camel colored fabric. Now I just need to find the time to make it.
I hope you’ve been well. The semester is winding down for me, so I’m glad to have a three week break. I hope to catch up on some “me” time. 🙂
Here’s to fabulous week, Jen. Muah.

I know just what you mean… So many layers! But I think you do a beautiful job of it, I’ve never seen anyone wear so many sweaters and somehow manage not to look like a marshmallow 🙂 [Which is exactly how I would look!] I love the combinatino of colours in this outfit, it’s almost, dare I say it, spring-like!

So gorgeous Jen! I love the colour palette, and I totally get what you mean. It’s been my uniform to wear a sweater and chunky knit scarf everyday just for the sake of warmth. So difficult to think that I’m going back to work at the end of this week so I need to start dressing better haha!
Very sophisticated look my dear! Love that leopard belt, perfect touch!

You look so lovely, Jen! I like the mix of the different neutral colors, it makes for a “warm” and elegant look. And that second-last picture of you is so pretty 🙂
