I’m sure those of us in colder climates have all experienced the struggle of creating interesting outfits in the winter time because it essentially consists of a coat and shoes. I rely heavily on accessories to make things interesting in these instances, and a few pieces that D recently brought back from a trip came together nicely around my favourite winter coat (last seen here). Sometimes I can’t believe how well he knows my taste (or how lucky & loved I am)!

Wearing: Elie Tahari coat, 7 For All Mankind pants, YesStyle blouse, J.Crew sweater, Zara faux fur scarf, necklace, gloves and bag from D

  2. Very lovely outfit, Jen! I love the dark red shade of the coat and you’re right – the gloves, bag and necklace look like they were meant to be together in this outfit. Lucky girl! Gotta love those attentive boyfriends… not only do they take pictures, they also make sure the outfit is complete ;-)

  8. Luckily, winter in San Francisco is so mild, I can often get away without a jacket if I wear enough layers! I agree that it can be challenging to keep things interesting when it’s freezing and there’s now on the ground. That said, an amazing coat is one of the easiest ways to solve that problem. This one looks gorgeous on you, and I love your choice of accessories!

    Stay warm!

  9. Beautiful outfit. I love the rich colors and textures you used! I am in awe of ladies like you that can bundle up for such cold weather and still look put together and stylish. Bravo!

  12. I’ve been on the hunt for this jacket ever since its debut. Such a great look and color! I completely agree, the cold weather has put a damper on anything stylish/interesting/pretty. Other than work, i try not to leave the house. Most of the time, I just pack on the layers to stay warm and not care about the aesthetic aspect the outfit.

  13. such a beautiful coat… and so perfect for the weather we are having at the moment..

  15. Still quite loving the design of this coat, I can definitely see why it’s your favourite– it’s a really lush colour and the cut of the collar keeps it eye-catching. Your boyfriend is so sweet (the necklace looks absolutely lovely) and it seems helping you fulfill dressing warm, hehe. Hope you had a good weekend! xx

  16. Jen, that coat is absolutely gorgeous! I love the colour and the oversized collar. Seriously stunning. The necklace is perfect too and the gloves add such a nice pop of pattern. Beautiful! xo Candice

  17. This coat actually makes me slightly miss cold weather. Seriously. You pull off the most lady like coats and it makes me jealous…

but then again, it’s not snowing here, and snow makes me hurt. So… I’ll just live vicariously and luxuriously through you.

  19. Positively love every piece! I adore cape coats, but this is a great alternative because it has a cape vibe to it, plus you’re able to keep some shape definition with the tie around. I’d say you’re expert level now when it comes to mixing textures and patterns. Kudos! Ah, and that’s probably smart to just tie your hair up. I find it annoying sometimes when my hair get’s caught/tangled with the scarf and coat.

  20. You have such an amazing collection of coats!! And they fit you so well for your certain small frame, it was like they were made&tailored just for you lol (:
