Doubling Up

July 16, 2013

Although it may be a considered a slight faux pas by some, I don’t find any shame in buying the same piece of clothing in multiple colours if I really like it. Such was the case recently when I found this Zara sweater dress on sale (seen in black here): in addition to its unique fit and simple beauty, the fact that I’ll be able to wear this piece well into the winter months with tights sealed the deal for me, making it a worthwhile purchase. How do you feel about “doubling up” when shopping?
Wearing: Zara dress (on sale in stores now), ALDO Rise heels (c/o), Club Monaco necklace (old), 3.1 Phillip Lim bag (love this mixed media rendition for the fall season), Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Grandest Grape

Oh I always do it. I picked up four linen tee’s in Zara last week. They fit great, all the colours are going to go great with what I already have… what’s not to like about doubling up?

Not a huge proponent of buying in multiples – since I prefer variety (also NYC apartments have no place for that)! The only caveat – pants. I think I have J Crew’s Minnie pants in every possible colour. I would cry if they ever stopped making them.

I always do that with pants. Once I find a pair of pants that fits, I buy them in black, brown and grey. Same with skirts and sweaters.

I always buys items in multiples when I see something I really like and wear a lot. The new fall collection from Phillip LIm is so gorgeous. I just got the taupe medium and loving it ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s so hard to find a certain piece or other (jeans, the perfect fitting shirt, etc.) that I always grab a couple if I’m head over heels in love with it! And I’m so glad you did with this dress – it’s so pretty and flattering!

If there were a law against buying multiples in different colours, half my wardrobe would not exist.

I agree with @ BeautyStyleGrowth if something fits me really well and it comes in other colors I have been known to buy it in multiples!
