This is bad. Ohhhhh, it’s bad. This is my very narrowed down list of “must haves” after thoroughly perusing the recently released capsule collection more than a few times. In fact, I’ve actually gone through and justified each piece in this post so that it actually kind of makes perfect sense to get each of them.

The ruffled cream skirt, the leather gloves and bold red necklace? Statement pieces at reasonable prices are a no brainer. That yellow dress would be perfect for a graduation event come April (and is Spring 09 all over again but in a bright colour!). The ruffly indigo number is just begging to be worn at a Christmas party with silver toned jewels, and of course the black zebra trench would be the ideal overcoat for both. The asymmetrical shouldered violet dress is a bit simple, yes… but that exaggerated sleeve and tulip skirt totally set it apart enough to be worth it. And pointy toed red pumps with a matching ankle sash– need I even begin??

But alas… I am but a practical soul (or so I would like to think) and it is simply not within my means to get a hold of everything. So if I could only have one? Sorry girls, but you guessed it: the yellow dress that you all saw and decided you must have– it arrived at the top of my list too. Oh, and I guess the affordable pieces can be there as well… since they are, you know, affordable.

And maybe the trench. No, definitely the trench. Ahhh!!!

(side note: I am curious to see what/how the materials are though. Are the dresses silks or poly? At that price you would think they would be the former but I’m suspecting they will be the latter, especially since Alber Elbaz has worked with polyester before…)

Which are your favourite pieces? Are you going to be lining up? What time are you going? I want to know!

  3. Oh geeze, I’m twiddling my thumbs thinking that I can live without some of the gowns. But I can’t. I really want something that is really impractical and that is the oversized red tulle gown. On the models it looks like it hits about the knee and I’m thinking it might hit me at the floor or calf length at best. LOL.
I love the yellow dress that you picked out! All of the other items you picked out and the image you styled it in is making me want to stand in line.

  4. I love some of the pieces, but I definitely won’t be lining up to get anything. I am not confident in H&M quality, even though it’s LANVIN. It’s too far of a jump, and I’m also not sure how I feel about wearing something that other bloggers will be all over as well. I’m sure you’ll be able to rock them like no other though, so power to you, daring :] :]

  5. these pieces are so exquisite! i am OBSESSED with this collection and i think i will go to my mall to hunt these down tomorrow ahhh. ruffles go straight to my heart

  6. I actually think the purple dresses would look better with your looks than the yellow one, but only slightly better ;) All of these are lovely!

  7. I love all of these pieces, DARN YOU SHOPPING BAN. I’ll live vicariously through you, it’ll give you an excuse to get extra pieces… on my behalf ;) <3

  8. Just discovered your blog and love it! My favorite pieces are also the white skirt and purple asymmetrical dress :)
