While he doesn’t generally say much when I wear them (read: all the time), D has made it quite clear that he’s not a fan of the faux fur vest. He’s definitely more open-minded about fashion than most men I know, but he’s said on numerous occasions that the garment reminds him of the Yeti. As much as I value his opinion, I couldn’t resist adding this lovely violet piece after considering it for the past few months. It’s my only non-neutral coloured vest and although that seemed a bit daunting at first, the rich jewel tone of it is proving to be a versatile and stunning addition to my wardrobe.
Wearing: YesStyle coat, J.Crew turtleneck, pants, and bracelet, Club Monaco vest, Zara shoes (old, but nearly identical pair here), DKNY bag, Banana Republic necklace (old), gloves from local boutique

  1. I’m loving the new faux fur vest.

On a few occasions, my other half has commented that he doesn’t like what I’m wearing for whatever reason, but I’ll wear it anyway because I like it!

  2. Jen this is an absolutely gorgeous outfit! the fur with the pants..love it! I have a faux fur vest and my dad loves to call me Cher when I wear it (apparently she wore a lot of fur?!) Not the look I’m exactly going for but it is my dad LOL

  3. HAHA of a Yeti! Oh, what do boys know. My boyfriend is actually obsessed with my fur vest…but that’s because he thinks I look like a Viking princess in it. So of course he found a way to masculine that up haha. And i LOVE this whole outfit- you seriously look like you stepped out of a magazine shoot.

  4. LOL D, so funny! Good for you to continue rocking the fur despite his Yeti comments. I think it looks fab on you, especially since you’re so petite. Gorgeous as always friend, miss you! Photos soon xo

  5. You know, I pretty much equate you with faux fur vests now :p That burgundy one is the perfect addition to your collection!

  8. The faux fur vest is fabulous and it’s even better that you got it in this luxurious violet colour. Sometimes men just don’t understand fashion, even though I can see what they mean from their point of view. But don’t worry, I don’t think these vests make you look like a yeti ;)

  9. I love the way you layer your outerwear and still manage to take photos of the clothes you’re wearing underneath! Do you ever close up your jackets though? I can imagine how tight of a fit it would be with a vest under!

  10. Shawn isn’t a fan of the faux fur trend, either… usually just a simple head shake and laugh when I come down in it, but while he doesn’t say much, I know he’s not a fan! I would never have thought colored fur could look SO chic, but this violet shade is just perfect and so gorgeous with the neutrals and the green pants! Gorgeous outfit, lady! I need to find a slimmer vest so I can layer it under coats – it looks so nice, but my only fur vest is gigantic and would never fit under a coat! Happy weekend, darling! xo.

  11. lol my husband is the same way .. sometimes they just
dont get it .. well i totally love your vest .. you definitely
have mastered the art of layering.
