Missing Piece

July 11, 2012

As I walked out the door in this outfit the other day, I knew something was a little off with the look. After a bit of contemplation, I decided that a red bag (preferably this one) would have been much more ideal paired with the ensemble. Since no such bag exists in my wardrobe, and because I didn’t want to change anything else about it, this was the next best thing. I’m curious, though – what kind of bag would you have carried with this look?

Striped shirts are the best 🙂 And hmm, I probably would’ve carried a red purse as well, or perhaps something with a print as a wild card?

Yes a red bag would have done wonders to amp up the sass, but I like the one you have. It’s sophisticated!

I think this looks perfect the way you already have it–a red bag might have been bordering on too matchy-matchy or costumey nautical. But sometimes it’s hard to judge without seeing everything together in real life, isn’t it?

So pretty! I actually like how the tan bag works with the other neutrals in this! Though the red really would have upped the nautical factor of the outfit. Great choice either way!

I think the brown bag isn’t bad, but you’re right that the red on would have definitely made this outfit pop! You’re outfit reminds me that I need a striped top like that in my wardrobe.

Gorgeous, as always. The brown definitely tones down the look, making it more office appropriate (Dare I say?). But the red, oh the red would’ve made it perfectly summery.

I’d go for a Celine as well, except the Nano Phantom. Little bags that don’t fit my giant SLR and papers for school won’t fly by me.

Hope you’re enjoying the hot hot hot heat! xo

A lovely combination… The classic navy shirt, a beautiful white skirt and the statement necklace to give that touch. The result is a elegant outfit!

If you hadn’t mentioned the other bag then I wouldn’t have thought there were any adjustments necessary! But I see what you mean; it would have complemented your lips nicely. Nonetheless, a lovely outfit for summer that is so much more sophisticated than the typical summer shorts and tee look!

I love this outfit, I love navy + white striped shirts, always remind me of France somehow. So a bit of red would’ve been good, that’s true! 😀 The brown bag isn’t bad at all though 🙂

Red would have looked interesting, especially if you’re trying to play up that color scheme. I would probably have opted for black if I had to go with a different color, but that cognac bag goes quite well!

Love everything about this outfit, including the purse! You know how to put pieces together so well! I think a bright coloured purse would have made the outfit pop more but i think the bag you have in the photographs look great though!

Ha, I think a Celine bag in any colour would be the perfect missing piece to any outfit puzzle! But unfortunately that doesn’t exist in my wardrobe either. I like the bag you paired with this outfit. I think a dove grey bag with pale gold accessories would have been a nice match as well.
