Mixed Layers

November 12, 2012

Every season, I tend to develop a “uniform” of sorts and live in some variation of that until I feel like I’ve done it far too often. This autumn, I quickly settled into one that includes a base layer (be it a blouse or sweater) followed by a faux fur vest, and all topped off with a wool coat. I love the texture and interest it creates, and how it allows for an ample number of combinations while being easy and effortless. Do you have a fall “uniform”?
Wearing: YesStyle coat and blouse, Zara vest (old) and shoes, T.Babaton pants (via Aritzia), DKNY bag (similar), BCBGMAXAZRIA ring, Estee Lauder polish in Black Iris

I don’t even have a winter coat. It’s been hard to find something I like. Yours is really pretty.

Just love this combo. And, I must say, I think you have me convinced to get some J. Crew “Minnies” (know that these aren’t them). I just love them on you always, and love these pants, too.

I would, but we don’t have fall in Hawaii, and I’m starting to forget what my go to fall outfits were while I lived in Detroit! Crazy, huh?

You look AMAZING and … this might sound crass, but I mean it in a totally good, you’re brilliant sort of way… expensive! 🙂

Heading to Vancouver for the US Thanksgiving holiday. I’m loving your coat and wishing I purchased something like that before my trip! Now I’m going to scroll through all of the remaining winter-attire to see what is appropriate for my suitcase! Love your photos!
