February 23, 2011

A simple outfit today for an afternoon downtown after the boyfriend and I went to join my mom for lunch at her office. These shots were taken in Pacific Centre and on Granville Street: two of downtown Vancouver’s busiest spots. I’m not one to pose freely and proudly in front of a big crowd (though I’ve come a long way since a year ago) but it all turned out fine and dandy– save for the semi-creepy Caucasian man who walked by, called me a “leng lui” (literally translates to “pretty girl” in Cantonese) and then insisted that my boyfriend help him take a photo with me with his disposable camera.

I’ve got three media events to attend in the next two days. I’ve never been to any and now they’re all piling up! Excited as I am, I must admit that I’m a bit nervous as I am a pretty shy girl. But lucky for me I am hoping that this will be an opportunity to finally meet some Vancouver fashion bloggers face to face– do let me know if you’ll be in attendance!

Wearing: Sisley shrunken blazer, Forever 21 blouse, Zara trousers, thrifted belt, Aldo shoes

Love your shoes! The colour and the cut is perfect. I can’t believe you survived the stroll downtown in sky high heels! Okay, that creepy caucasian…wtf. There are so many weird people in Vancouver. Did you guys say anything to him? I’ve never been to any media events either. You’re going to the Michael Kors opening, right? I *might* be there if my work lets me take the day off. It’ll be my first event as a blogger. It’d be cool if I finally met you!

Anyway, hope you enjoy all the events!

You are a leng lui–that man may have been creepy but he was right about that lol. Your heels elevate this entire look from something more casual to laid-back elegance.

Which events are you going to? DM or email me! We might be at the same ones and it’d be nice to meet you face-to-face. 🙂

same here, I hate posing in public & crowded places, I can’t deal with the gawking… that’s why I always pick alleys or side streets.

You’re so cute! I feel rather shy posing in front of the public as well. Crowded streets, etc. Even EMPTY streets, for fear of somebody looking out the window. LOL
