Skincare Love: The Face Mask

June 17, 2015

With each passing year, I’ve been learning to be increasingly diligent with my skin. I feel like it’s a luxury to be able to take care of it at all, so I do my part to keep it as healthy as I can. In addition to being consistent with my daily routine, it’s also become a practice to do something more intensive once a week. One of my favourite ways to do this is with a face mask: an inexpensive alternative to going to the spa, it’s a wonderful way to unwind, relax, and refresh. THEFACESHOP first introduced me to the world of mask sheets a few years ago, and remains my favourite place to get them to this day. The prices are great, the selection pretty unparalleled and, though I’ve never used a bad one, some favourites have certainly emerged; Mung Bean is great for calming acne-prone skin, and Pomegranate and Cucumber are perfect for invigorating skin during the summer months.

The process to use the mask is pretty self-explanatory, but here’s a great tip that I picked up from a girlfriend a while back: extend the life of the serum by wiping the used mask over your arms and legs. This stuff is potent and perfect for an extra full-body skin boost!

If you’re in Vancouver, THEFACESHOP is opening their brand new Pacific Centre location this Friday and I’d love to meet you! I’ll be in store, along with my friend Alex from To Vogue Or Bust, from 4 to 9pm. Hope you can come by and join in on the fun for touch ups, mini facials, sweets, opening promotions, and more!

Using a face mask is definitely a great way to pamper the skin without having to visit the spa! Cucumber and pomegranate sound great, thanks for the recommendation!

I’m really into cleansing and using face masks. I’ve had very problematic skin for years, and always try and remain diligent about keeping up a good routine. I’ve yet to try a sheet mask, but I’ve heard amazing things about them.
