{a midweek girl’s night with indulgent poutine}
I am continually hearing people say that we should be less “busy”, and how we’ve foolishly filled up our schedules, exhausting ourselves with ultimately inconsequential things (which of course, seem important while we’re doing them). I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment, but I just can’t seem to get myself out of the cycle. Truthfully, I’ve been so tired lately everything seems like a big blur (and things are behind schedule, like how a supposed Tuesday Treats is published on Thursday instead). Sadly, this seems to be the case with most people I’ve talked to – and I wish it wasn’t the case. Here’s to stepping back and savouring some happy things from the past couple of weeks.
I’d also love to know – how do you unwind and find balance in your life?

  1. Um, that poutine looks amazing. And I’m still swooning over your new J.Crew pumps! I’ve learned that I’m not able to function in “too busy” mode for very long… some people thrive on it, even if it makes them a little crazy or worn out, but for me it only takes a couple days of being overly busy and I feel nuts. I think I’m a homebody at heart! I love that you had a little brainstorming date with yourself. Too cute! And something I think I could definitely benefit from!

  2. I’m having a poutine tonight with my friend Nancy! Yay!

    What I’ve been doing lately is taking bath and putting on a face mask. I was feeling so tired yesterday, I was falling asleep in my dinner, but then I had a bath and mask, and I got more energy to go and talk a walk to fill my lungs with fresh air :)

  3. I’ve been feeling really burnt out lately too but it can be hard just stepping back from everything completely to take a break. Hopefully we both can get some much-needed rest!

  4. I love all of these pictures – and that poutine looks amaaaaazing! I make the conscious effort to be grateful… sometimes, I just take a few minutes to sit back and think about all of the things that I have and I give thanks for it… but then I always try to keep my goals in mind so I can be proactive about those too!

  5. The balancing act is a tricky thing indeed. I am still trying to figure it out :p haha. Umm those treats look delicious btw.

  6. we defo all feel it – you’re doing great – such an inspiration! there are only so many hours in a day, and as long as we can all get together for mid-week poutine, things are good and priorities are straight :) xo
