Do you ever put something on and feel so quintessentially “you” in it– wherein you feel like you’ve captured the essence of your personal style perfectly with an outfit? Of course, that’s what I hope to find every day, and perhaps it is inexperience that causes me to falter, but it doesn’t always happen for me all the time. However, that’s what I felt when I threw together this outfit today. The result? Confidence and cheer in spite of lack of sleep and a bad hair day. Isn’t it great that something as simple as clothing can do wonders to boost the spirits?

  1. If this is quintessentially you, I love it :) Something about a nautical blue skirt with sheer black stockings and chunky heels feel so put together. I love the look – colors, texture and flowiness of the outfit :)

  2. You look so beautiful in these pictures, I agree that the right outfit can pick someone up in spite of trying circumstances. Some people think fashion is inconsequential but I disagree…your post proves them wrong! :)

  3. Oooh I love this! Such a great mix of prints!

and yay for the snood! It is so cute! Glad you’re getting it (unless you change your mind, but I hope you don’t, it would be so cute on you ;)

  4. Adorable outfit, I love the mixture of leopard and stripes!! Were these taken in Fort Langley? It’s one of my favourite spots for photos. And I agree, a great outfit can always turn the day around!

and yes, it’s my second year at SFU :)

  5. I so totally agree with you on your point of view, femininity is the number one key factor when I “judge” a girls appearance. With femininity comes confidence and sex appeal automatically.
I am crazy about your style and dress sense, I think you are a true example of femininity and elegance. You dress with ample style and class, yet always with a sophisticated hint of sex appeal.

Great blog, great pics, and I have become a loyal follower.

    Have a super week.
    Colin.

Ps, I think you have really well shaped legs, and you can wear your skirts and heels with pride. :)

  9. It’s true… this outfit is totally “you”! :) And if that’s what you consider a bad hair day then I probably have never had a good hair day!

  10. Your outfits just keep getting better and better! I love how you’re mixing such bold patterns here. You inspire me lady!

I tried mixing leopard layered with a sheer polka dot over top. Loved the combo, but it didn’t show unfortunately in photos :(

  11. This is such an unusual combination of two prints I wouldn’t ever have tried, but, surprisingly, it works well here! Great job ;)

  12. The bold jewelry and the flirty dress is such a Jen outfit! Omeah, you are already busting out the tights. It’s currently still 94 degrees out where I live and I just can’t bring myself to wear tights right now, even though they are so darn flippin’ cute!

  13. Gotta love that necklace, right? I’ve worn it 4 days straight and I don’t see why I should stop at 4 ;) I love how regal this outfit looks. The mix of prints is just pure genius. How are you holding up in those sky-high wedges?!?!?!? Are they comfortable? :)

ps. bad hair day?? pssshhh… it looks great ;)

  15. I’m often torn between society’s perception of fashion and my own. And the fact that I feel most comfortable in T-shirts and shorts, like “me” – yet my “best” self is a pair of killer heels and a fabulous one piece…I dunno, I’m about to start rambling….

    Love the outfit :)

  16. This is such a brave, fierce look. Cheers to pattern mixing, so fresh!

plus, the location of this photo shoot is fantastic!
