{a sparkly Christmas present and a neon sweater found on sale}
I always try to be realistic whenever a new year rolls around: I know that keeping a long and diverse list of resolutions is near impossible for me, so I mostly just want to use the opportunity to re-focus, carefully evaluate where I’m at and reflect on the past year. On a lighter note, I also spent the first week of 2012 re-organizing my home, finding comfort in cozy things, and enjoying a few new pieces of jewelry as icing on the cake.

{re-styling my bookshelves as a quick way to freshen up my room}

{floral candle holders found at a thrift store for mere pennies that add touches of gold}

{fully faux fur lined booties for chilly winter days}

{the larger counterpart to my favourite studded ring – a new cuff from David}

    I adore your bookshelf set up, Jen. Of course, it is as chic as your outfits! I spy the Simple Sewing book! I have that book. What are your thoughts? Do you think that book is helpful? If you get a chance to pop into the book store, take a peek at the Vogue Sewing book. (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/vogue-sewing-vogue-knitting-magazine/1018824044?ean=9781933027005&itm=1&usri=vogue+sewing) It’s a fabulous book for beginngers. 🙂 Highly recommended. I still use mine for reference.

    Love the neon sweater. I just got myself a neon cardi as well. And some neon nail polish too. Knowing me I’ll want to wear them at the same time. Ha! I kid (well, only a little, I may just do it).

    I just saw that cuff as I was perusing BCBG.com. I was going to place the order on it, but I read the fine print and it saw it won’t leave the warehouse for 2 – 4 weeks! I will need to pop into the store over the weekend to see if they have it. It’s so awesome.

    I hope your week is going great so far! Kisses.

    xx Love & Aloha

    Love these ‘treats’! Especially the flower candle holders are such a great find. Do you have any recommendations on good thrift stores here in Vancouver?

    I’m totally restyling my shelves thanks to you! I have about three of them done, but I’m still in the process of unpacking from my move so I don’t quite have all of my books yet. Plus, my closet is screaming out for attention and I need to pick up a few more pieces of furniture…but the bookshelves will be finished someday and I’m excited! 😉

    Isn’t it amazing what you can find at a thrift store?! I found brass pineapple candlestick holders on eBay for super cheap.

    (RE: the bracelet: I haven’t purchased it … yet. I have tiny wrists too, but I”m hopeful that it’ll be cute. I’ll let you know if I end up buying it!)
