Living in a city with weather as volatile as Vancouver, it can be difficult to be consistent with photo taking and blog updating. Sometimes I look at blogs from sunny California or Singapore with envy knowing that 9 out of 10 days throughout the year provide photo-worthy daylight for them. After being discouraged a few times this week, we decided that I had a perfectly good room to take photos in and voila… I just wore whatever I wanted and it was like Summer again!

The gold nail polish was for New Year’s festivities, but I wasn’t ready to take it off just yet so the glitter made it into the shots!

P.S. Thank you boyfriend for your patience and perfectionist attitude in taking these photos for me! You are the absolute BESTEST.

  1. You are right, it’s so difficult to keep up with the blog in this kind of weather. People from the Southern Hemisphere make me jealous these days :))
Love your top’s bat sleeves and the leopard print skirt.

  2. I don’t think you should be envious of people who live in warm weather. Just think, they have the same weather, day in and day out. Whereas, Vancouver has warm, cool, wet, windy, balmy days all year round. It’s always changing. Therefore, you can have a more dynamic wardrobe. How luxurious is a thick coat with a warm faux stole and gloves compared to linen skirts and shirts and sandals? Think about it.

I always take my photos indoors. I live in a condo complex with ugly scenery around and snoopy neighbors. The snow never touches me. It’s snowing hard here today. At least you just have rain right now. Lucky.

    Great shoot, Jen.

  4. Let’s talk about that leopard skirt!! LOVE it! And so glad you paired it with a color other than black :-)

    Happy Friday Dear! xo

  5. I hear you: I’m so tired of the horrible, COLD weather we’ve been having lately! It’s way too cold for me to go outside and take pictures, so I’m trying to make due indoors, which hasn’t been easy AT ALL! Yours turned out great, though! Your outfit is adorable…I love your nail color! I just got a similar color but haven’t painted my nails at all this year…lazy.

    Have a great weekend!

  6. I love the NYE nail polish! The sparkle looks great against that pale silk blouse. You always look so effortlessly put together.

  7. You look so gorgeous, love the top and the bottom and the jewelry and everything else about your outfit. I am pretty tired of the snow and cold and ugly melting snow and everything about winter…I walk around with my coat on even inside. lol, soon enough it’ll be over!

  8. Yeap, the nasty weather has made me quite lazy for last couple of weeks… I don’t feel like going out at all! And that can only mean less posts on my blog… Maybe I should follow your way then? ;o)
You look amazing in that top!

  13. Your photos are always so fantastic! And I live in SoCal and I find it tough shooting outside and it’s not even that cold here! LOL Haven’t done an outside shoot for months!

  14. As I said in the email I wrote you, I love your blog. It’s no worse to take pictures indoors, it changes. This outfit is very classy! The top is enhanced by simple but handles the bat and I love leopard skirt. Like the leopard, I’d find myself a beautiful coat. But since I live on an island where the sun is dominant I have no use for now. haha

    Love.

  15. You look so great in that blouse , very refined :D I love especially it’s color.

I love your outfit and the photos, and I think I can relate with the finicky weather even though I’m in Toronto.

  17. You look so pretty. I love the earrings.

I adore the girliness of your looks. I have been so uninspired and lazy. I definitely need to get my act together!

  19. Once again, the shots are gorgeous. Your skin is flawless, no? What are you secrets! Haha. The outfit is so girly and chic, very pretty. Such a feminine blouse with a leopard printed skirt makes a killer oufit combo. Hope you had a good new years! I give your boyfriend props, too. It takes a lot of patience to capture such gorgeous photos. He probably doesn’t mind though. I bet he’s so happy to being taking photos for you as he’s also contributing to the success of your blog. He should be a proud man! :)

  20. I agree.. it’s really hard to take photos living downtown! Especially these days when it gets dark so fast!

  21. i like :) it’s definitely hard to take photos outside, especially in the freezing cold! plus, the days are so short, so it’s pretty restricting too. ah, the weather in vancouver must be nicer than toronto though!

  23. aww what a sweet and romantic outfit!! i seriously love the top! and you’re oh so pretty girl! :)

  24. Aww, you look stunning. I’m so loving that leopard skirt! And I totally understand about the weather. Besides the unbearable cold it’s also hard to deal with the surroundings – like, here in Nebraska the snow is pretty much melted so the nature outside looks very unattractive, frozen and dead. I don’t do outfit photos yet, but I’m hoping to do a little bit this year and the season isn’t helping! I love the way these turned out inside; so pretty.

Hope you’re having a lovely weekend, dear!

  25. Aww, you are so precious. I love the slits in the top, they’re perfect! And how sweet of you to thank your bf, boyfriends who take photos are awesome :) and yes my video was shot w/ by bfs new camera its a Canon DSLR. Its pretty neat!

  29. you look so soft and beautiful. I love that the skirt has a little bit of a peek-a-boo, but is totally elegant. The leopard adds of dash of edginess that works so well in this context. Wonderful, Jen!

  30. I totally sympathize! It’s the name thing in New York – it’s dark when I leave in the morning and when I get back at night. And it’s cold! But winter won’t last forever, and you look adorably festive here, my dear.

    xo, Ashley

  31. i hear u jen. i have that problem a lot. i must say david did an amazing job shooting indoors. me and george still have a lot of trouble with that. the pictures turn out usually too yellow for us. we still have to play with it. for me the hardest thing is that george comes home from work at 6:00 when its too dark so even if the weather was beautiful i cant do anything about it. i just have to wait till summer comes back.
btw i saw you are planning on travelling after graduation. when will u be in london?

  32. Gorgeous photos and outfit! I love the peachy pink hue of the blouse, and pairing it with a leopard print skirt is an unexpected move but the entire ensemble works. Your boyfriend did a fantastic job with these photos. No need to fret about the weather outside when he can take such great photos indoors. ;)

  33. Love the leopard and the sleeves on your top. I am sick of the weather too – pouring rain, snow and no daylight do not make it easy to blog.
