Although I dislike the concept of my dressing being literally dictated by the trends on the runway (I don’t care if Prada did it, flatforms will never be okay in my books), I do tend to find a one or two things that I like immensely each season and run with it. Last fall it was leopard (seen here, here and here just to start), and this spring I just can’t get enough of colour blocking. Here are two looks that I wore this past weekend to brighten up the mostly dreary and rainy weather we’ve been having.
Love that first photo, and then the yellow shoes

I love the scallop detailing of the first dress and I love the green and yellow combo in the second. Lovely!
Is that orange skirt from Forever21? I had that in my basket, but it unfortunately sold out, :(. Love the blue and orange combo!
i heart the scalloped edge on your skirt!!
and your yellow pumps are sooo freakin’ adorable!
and i agree.. flatforms don’t flatter ANYBODY!!
My outfits are usually so bland, but I’ve been experimenting with colour blocking lately! Just haven’t put it on the blog yet. tehe You look fab, as always. Well, the bottom half of you anyway ; )
I’m totally loving all of the colour blocking this season as well! I feel like it just puts you in a better mood too! haha.

I spy a beautiful F21 scalloped linen blend skirt that lots of petite ladies wanted! Or maybe it’s a different one? It fits way too nicely on you to be the same frumpy one I checked out in-store last week!
I especially love the second look! Where are those amazing yellow pumps from?

love the green skirt! i need to try the color blocking trend!
To be totally and brutally honest, I’ve never seen anything uglier than flatforms haha. I can’t ever imagine ANYONE wearing it. It took me awhile to get into colour blocking but you totally changed my opinion of it – I love the colours you choose to blend together into an outfit. It still shows your classy, feminine style through all the bright colours!
Love these photos!! The colours really look so sunny and cheerful. I have not tried colour blocking yet, I think I will soon!

No flatforms for me either! Awful, just awful!
You’re mixing all these colours perfectly, wish I was brave enough to play with this trend… :o)

I love the money green skirt. but agree with you in terms of not following trends…I do have to say though I need to get out of my own comfort zone and start wearing more colour!
Color blocking can look tacky, but you always make it look very tasteful and elegant
I love that scalloped hem skirt. Forever 21, right? I would get it in a heartbeat if it wasn’t too short for my office wardrobe
And yes, I’m not feeling the flatforms either!

I really need to get some tips from you in color blocking. I have NO color in my wardrobe currently.
You always do everything so gracefully.

These are both such pretty looks! I like your approach of picking one or two trends that work for your taste and going all out on them. It’s a smart way to stay on top of trends without sacrificing your sense of personal style.
I have tried this trend, and unfortunately it just isn’t ME, but you look ADORABLE in both looks. Love the yellow shoes.
and the scallop hemline of the orange skirt is fab.

I love that scalloped red-orange skirt as well as that green one! And I agree, flatforms are/always will be horrible. I don’t understand why they are a trend!

I’m excited about color blocking since we’re not really allowed to wear prints according to our corporate dress code.
I love both of these outfits! The bright colors are so much fun!
And I totally agree with you about the flatforms – NO. Not ever. Not. Ever.
