Grown-up Rain Gear

March 16, 2011

With the amount of rain that Vancouver gets, the unthoughtful uniform of a waterproof rain jacket & wellies can become drab and, well honestly, a little bit depressing. This black Mackage trench that I scored last summer at a deep discount, paired with a pair of stiletto booties (and of course an umbrella), has thankfully allowed for a much chicer alternative.

Wearing: Mackage trench, Jacob belt, Joe Fresh army green tights, Zara booties, Tom Ford Anouk sunnies, Coach bag, ASOS ring, MAC lip pencil in Brick

That’s such a great trench! I really like how you styled it with the cheetah belt. And great job on the discount! I love getting things for steals.

i like the way you styled the trench with a skinny belt and some cute heels. we get a lot of rain too and i’m tired of wearing hello kitty rainboots all the time xD

Awesome trench! It’s from Dakota Group sample sale, right? Love the leather lining on the shoulders. What material is it made from? It doesn’t look waterproof! From the pictures it looks like it’s cotton. You version of uniform for Vancouver’s weather is definately a lot chicer than most people. πŸ™‚

Love that trench. I have a Soia & Kyo one I got for a great price a couple of summers ago, it’s very satisfying to look stylish and see the water bead up and roll right off me. I’m not quite comfortable in heels enough to wear some stilettos on a rainy day, but I did manage to find a really sleek, simple pair of leather-looking rain boots. It’s hard living in a wet climate!

GREAT Trench. I love that you paired it with matching accessories such as the leopard print belt and the tan bag. I can’t believe that bag is Coach. It’s about time they grew up a little. I was getting sick of all the C monogrammed things. When a high school bratsky is carrying the same bag as me, it’s time to retire the brand.

I still have yet to find a warm trench. It’s been quite awhile that I’ve ever found a good one. By the time I’ll find one at a good price, I’ll be living in a place too warm

I absolutely love this outfit, definitely one of my faves of yours! That trench is such a great stand-alone piece and I love how you styled it. Where did you get your Tom Ford sunnies from, Holts? I’ve been looking for some with that exact shape for so long!

I actually just got everything you’re wearing (from diff places and diff colors of course) and I’ve been meaning to wear it like that.. the weather has been too great though, my trench is beige so I’m a little worried!

P.S. I love your little write up on the side, you got the kind of outlook every fashionista should.
