At the beginning of this year, I set a sartorial goal to incorporate more interest into my personal style by taking more risks. Since I started streamlining and minimizing my closet, I’ve been feeling like I haven’t been able to have as much fun with how I dress. While I’ve now built a pretty good collection of pieces I love that are very versatile and easily remix-able, more often than I’d like to admit I feel like I’m wearing the same outfit everyday.
I know this isn’t exactly a revelation, but lately I’ve seen just how much a good accessory can elevate a look. My jacket, top, and skirt have all been worn many times – both individually and all together. As good as these pieces are, though, they’ve admittedly been feeling a little stale lately. I recently added this simple but quirky, skinny silk scarf to my wardrobe, and it’s made my old staples feel new and updated for the season. I love that this particular piece can also be worn in multiple ways as well (in my hair, on a bag, as a belt), making it a small but powerful addition.
