Although I don’t work in a corporate environment, getting my bachelor’s degree in business did mean a fair share of professional attire back in the day (for presentations and the like). Since graduation, I still keep to some variation of a “formula” for any time a more professional look is required; this typically consists of a high necked blouse, cropped jacket, cigarette trousers, and closed toe pumps. Thankfully, being in marketing allows for a slightly more lenient approach, and I definitely can’t help being quite liberal in the colour and pattern injection.

Nice look! Love the blouse!
Love this outfit! Every piece is so fab!

I think I’d call this “creative corporate” – it definitely isn’t something you’d see on Bay Street/Wall Street, but also not the laid back looks one sees in IT or even some creative fields!
I love this outfit – the different colors and textures make it so interesting!

Your flashback to school reminds me of my UBC days, when the commerce kids would dress up in business attire for presentations and networking events while everyone else was in tees, sweatshirts, and jeans.
I love that lace top!! Gorgeous outfit!

Such a perfect outfit!
Always so fresh and polished, Jen. I’m drooling over that gorgeous peplum top of yours. But of course, since it’s “free size/one size”, it’s too teeny tiny for me. Bummer.

What an amazing blouse! Sheer, lace, AND peplum? How could anyone resist?!

That’s your secret. You found a chic formula in pieces that flatter you and that you carry confidently, and then it’s all about the texture, color, fabrics and slight changes to shapes and accessories. This is why you’re so chic and polished all the time.
I have never had my style down to such a science.

I think the secret behind business wear is keeping within the silhouette and length area, but being able to pull prints and fabrications around it. I love how you dressed up that peplum top!
