When you’ve lived in the same place for your entire life, it’s pretty easy to think you’ve seen it all. And that’s how I’d felt about my city for quite a few years now; after all, it has been over two and a half decades of calling it home. This past weekend, though, I discovered that I was definitely wrong. On the way to the water where we often like to shoot at we discovered Finn Slough– an amazing, tiny, hidden fishing community in Richmond. Stumbling upon the decaying village, complete with its rickety bridge and wooden houses on stilts, made it seem like we’d momentarily escaped the city and discovered a hidden gem. It’s nice to be reminded that even in the familiar, it’s always a good idea to keep on exploring.
PS. A big thanks to Lyst for some of the pieces I’m wearing in this post! If you haven’t heard, Lyst is a site that allows you to browse over 9,000 brands and millions of products in one place so you don’t have to look everywhere to discover pieces you love. They recently reached out and asked if Erin and I wanted to pick out gifts for each other from their site in honour of Galentine’s Day and, of course, we gladly complied!
Thanks to Erin, I received some lovely classics from Club Monaco for spring, including this sweater and vest (and this beautiful trench that I just got shortened!). Oh, they also offer sale and back-in-stock alerts– always a good idea for extra efficient shopping.
Be sure to check out what I picked out for Erin in her post here!
