Hey friends! It’s been a while. Apologies that it’s been pretty quiet around here. I can’t believe I’m saying it already, but our wedding is coming up in just a few short months! Since we chose not to hire a planner, it feels like we’re at the point now where the day is close enough that we have to start tacking those “little” things and details that we’ve been putting off for so long. A couple of weeks ago I also had a pretty horrific experience with the person who was supposed to make my dress, and as a result have had to start the search again from scratch (email me if you’re a bride or know a bride and want to know more). Needless to say, a few things have had to take a spot on the back burner.
It’s definitely times like these that makes me appreciate a good pared down wardrobe even more, and not having to think very hard about what to wear every day. A big part of that has come from choosing pieces that are versatile and generally go with everything. These Steve Madden slingbacks from SHOEme definitely fit the bill: not only are they ridiculously comfortable and just the right height, but they go with everything from denim to skirts to shorts. They are pretty much going to be a summertime staple around here, so expect to see them a lot!

Hi Jen!
Firstly, I love your blog! I am very sorry to hear about your dress fiasco. I had a horrible horrible experience with my wedding and engagement party dresses. Unfortunately I had to wear the outfits as they were too close to my functions. Good luck with everything!
Thanks Bal! Wow, sorry to hear about what happened with your dresses. Hopefully you still had an incredible wedding day!
It didn’t…marrying the love of my life was the absolute best ever but knowing that I wasn’t looking or feeling my absolute best did damper my mood at times. It’s so u fortunate that some vendors play on the utter excitement of brides to their advantage
So much info in so few words. Tolsoty could learn a lot.
Oh, no! I hope you got everything sorted out with your dress. I planned my own wedding as well and it was a lot of work but I wouldn’t have done it any other way. Remember, things might go wrong and there might be some hiccups on the actual day, but in the end it’s not about all the “stuff” but about your love for each other and this new exciting chapter in your life! 🙂
P.S. You look fantastic as always!
