As much as I like polka dots, I often find them a tad hard to wear without looking like a little girl. When this Marni for H&M scarf showed up in the mail last week, though, I was eager to incorporate it into my outfit for the day. Consuelo Castiglioni’s designs are always very whimsical and never shy away from colour or pattern, so I paired it with a cardigan of the same print and a shot of bronze for good measure. To prevent it from being too girly, I threw in some leather trimmings and wore and my new earrings from the sweet Veronica Nunes!

Wearing: YesStyle blouse (last seen here), Forever 21 cardigan (similar), Club Monaco skirt (50% off in champagne colour here!), Marni for H&M silk scarf (from a press kit), Zara shoes, Michael Kors sunnies, vnunes earrings (c/o) (15% off w code “herwaisechoice”!)
What a great look! I love the polka dots!
PIECE OF CAKE. PEACE OF MIND.

I think you did a great job incorporating that cardigan! I was so obsessed with these shoes last month, unfortunately they sold out fast.

Great scarf, Jen! I am curious about this collaboration. I will definitely check the collection out when it’s available in stores.

Such a cute outfit! I have the very same skirt in the campaign color
What a lovely ensemble! You’re right about the instant feminization but you’ve assembled all the pieces thoughtfully and look far from a little girl; rather, a very well-dressed woman. The scarf is such a great touch of vivid colour making me very excited for the Marni x H&M collaboration!
You look very nice, this type of skirt really is perfect for you and that scarf is brilliant!:D
wonderful!! love the Marni scarf:)

This is super cute, Jen! I love the earrings, and love your hair pulled back like this! I also struggle sometimes with looking too little girlie… I don’t know why, as I’m weeks away from 30, but I still feel like sometimes things look too cutesy & young! I think you struck the perfect balance here though! Adorable!
Love those earrings!! And the leather detailing on your collar is perfect with the polka dots. I agree with you as well, its never comfortable to feel too like a 10 year old would wear the same thing. You look very feminine and sophisticated in this look.
you are seriously the cutest! Love how you incorporated the scarf into this look! xo

I have to say, I think your scarf is by far my favourite piece from the Marni for H&M collection – it’s so subtly pretty and it’s a perfect match for your (our) Club Monaco skirt! I’m a big fan of polkadots – prints in general are not my thing, but somehow I’m comfortable with stripes and polkadots – and I think you wear them very well

I love the color combo and the skirt =)

So pretty Jen! I just love that skirt. And sorry to get back to you so late – Andrew doesn’t know when he’s leaving now due to some issues applying for a VISA (which is actually good news for me!!) Let’s definitely get together again soon and try out another great restaurant. Talk soon!

I think you mixed the polka dots so well and you don’t look like a little girl at all! You should definitely incorporate more polka dots into our wardrobe, they suit you

What a great idea to wear this silk scarf with the polkadot cardigan. It definitely provides the little bit of “oomph” and the bronze skirt brings in some extra elegance. Lovely!

i LOVE this! the polka dots work perfectly!
I love the leather collar on your blouse!
This is super cute!! Love those polka dots!!
My oh my, are the heels on your shoes clear? If so, such a unique touch! I tend to do the same as you, when my outfit is seeming too feminine for my taste, I’ll add more masculine details/accessories. The simplest way for me is wearing my go-to oxford shoes rather than delicate flats or heels.
Love the outfit, and how you mixed the different sized polka dot patterns! I am absolutely in love with Marni H&M scarfs-they are so wearable and have great quality!
