Hello, June

As cliché as it sounds, 2014 has been flying by. And while it has been abundant, it’s been a little overwhelming at times. This past weekend was the first one in a while that actually felt restful: this introvert finally learned how to say no to some social engagements and recharge with good quality alone time reading, lazing around, and watching Game of Thrones (I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on – I started watching just two weeks ago and am caught up to season 3!). It was a great reminder of how integral and valuable it is to take a full day off from work each week… and thanks to it I am feeling fresh and ready for the week ahead. Have a great Monday!

Lately, I’ve been fully on board with longer, ultra-feminine hemlines. Being 5’3 though, it’s proven to be a little hard to find the right one. Through a lot of trial and error and time spent in fitting rooms, I’ve found that the best versions are high waisted and hit just where your calves begin to slim… and of course, wearing a heel certainly helps! This tea-length, paint splatter number (reminiscent of this beauty!) was a lucky find from a trip to Asia back in April; I took it out for the first time last month when I shot with Edmonton-based photographer Jaleen Lessard, and it was the perfect piece to twirl in!
