{Photos by Fotowok}

Here is the first installment of photos that were taken when Fotowok and I dropped in to local boutique Barefoot Contessa while shooting photos in the neighbourhood. It was so much fun playing with pieces that featured girly details like lace, gold buttons and ruffles– like playing dress up in a very stylish friend’s closet. I think I may need to return for that flowing asymmetrical skirt!

{this skirt was just begging to be twirled in / pattern play}

Thanks to Eva and the super friendly ladies at Barefoot Contessa for letting us take pictures and play dress up with your beautiful clothes!

Barefoot Contessa has locations on Main St and Commercial Drive. You should go!

  1. You are so gorgeous, Jen! I love that first photo of you. And that asymmetrical chiffon skirt is amazing, I hope you do go back for it!

    I have family in Vancouver and the next time I drive up there, I’ll have to visit Barefoot Contessa!

  2. Wow these photos are stunning! What a beautiful shop. I am loving chiffon this summer. So light and breezy to wear!

  3. How fun! I love the picks you tried on, too. That store has a lot of character, love it!

  4. You’ve said you can’t do edgy, but that asymmetrical skirt is a perfect example of your cross-over appeal! I think you could totally do edgy with a feminine twist if you tried.

    I think you totally could.

    I WANT that skirt.

    Mae Lu @ thereafterish.!

  5. These photos are absolutely gorgeous. I’m ashamed to say I still haven’t visited Barefoot Contessa, I just look at all the beautiful pieces through my screen and can’t bring myself to venture out! One of these days I swear I’ll go! :)

    P.S. I absolutely adore that asymmetrical skirt.

  6. Omg that lace dress is gorgeous!!! How did you manage to not buy everything here?? That store is pure heaven to me.

  7. How cute! It looks like it has a bit of a Lolita flair in the first picture, but very grown-up and chic. And I love the decor, the standing mannequins and chandeliers and such. Perfect shopping ambiance.

    Once again, feeling jealous that I don’t live in Canada. I’ll just have to come back and stalk your blog for a to-visit list if I ever get to Vancouver!

  8. It’s probably a good thing that I don’t live too near either of the Barefoot and Contessa locations, or I would be rushing down for that asymmetrical hem chiffon skirt. How gorgeous is that? I just love the colour and the cut is perfect whimsical!

  9. I wonder if that so lovely *drool* black lace dress is still there. Or did you snap it up?? That hat looked so right on you.

  10. These photographs are beautiful! The atmopshere and lighting are stunning as well.

    Love the flirty skirt, it looks like you could dance in that… and the orange skirt, beauty!
