Borrowed from the Boys

March 25, 2013

I’m not quite sure why, but almost everything I’ve been drawn to sartorially lately has veered toward the masculine side (with a feminine twist). This pinstriped blouse from Joe Fresh is the latest addition: I like how relaxed the fit is and the “borrowed from the boys” vibe it gives off, but the fact that it’s made from silk keeps it somewhat feminine. Since the piece itself seems to give the best of both worlds, it only felt right to pair it with equally tomboyish jeans and heavy chains, polished off with red lips and a sky-high heel to maintain some girly appeal.
Wearing: Joe Fresh blouse (c/o), CURRENT/ELLIOTT denim, Brian Atwood pumps, Artessorio bag, Nixon watch, Club Monaco necklace

I think this is the first time I’ve seen you wearing jeans, and adore how they look on you! Such an easy look, yet you make it look super sophisticated, they light on your pics is everything!

Jen, I LOVE this look on you!! The striped silk blouse is stunning (whhhy don’t any of the maritime Joe stores carry silk blouses?!) and the layered chains are so edgy with it! Your hair is also looking extra amazing in these photos! Total rockstar! xo.

I LOVE THIS OUTFIT, JEN! I really love the ripped up jeans and the casual, menswear feel of the button down. It’s so airy and breezy, and while I love the edgy-yet-polished tailored sophistication of your usual ensembles, this feels so refreshing and effortless. One of my favorites.

I am so pinning this look. You are my inspiration for the week. <3
