Hipster Ballerina

November 9, 2011

Admittedly, I go shopping a lot. Seeing an abundance of clothing often actually helps me in saying “no” to almost everything I see. Every so often, though, I see something that I just can’t put down; this new sweater was the most recent “something”. Simple yet striking, I am so drawn to the beautiful, warm material and the subtly detailed neckline. And thanks to its versatility and ability to be layered, I feel like its “cost per wear” has already become lower than many of the pieces in my closet.

By the way, the strange title of this post was thanks to David, who called me both of these things upon seeing me with this headband on. Sometimes I just don’t understand boys šŸ˜‰
Wearing: Aritzia sweater, Zara skirt (old), H&M headband and booties, Coach bag

Beautiful photos! I love your outfit. Black and red is such a classic yet very chic combo. What kind of lipstick you’re wearing in this post? I really like it.

Awww that’s such a cute nickname.
I know the focus is on the sweater, but I can’t help but stare at your skirt. Love it!

your skirt is so pretty…I love the pop of color! I also love the headband but I don’t think that it would look good with my short hair.

Have a great rest of the week!

Bahaha, I actually LOVE that the title of this is Hipster Ballerina. Too funny! You look adorable – I have this skirt in black (I think we both do?) and this makes me wish so much that I had picked up the red, too! It’s SO cute! And I love it paired with the tan booties! Adorable!

HAHA I totally knew that David had come up with the title somehow… :p It just didn’t seem like something you would come up with!

You look mighty adorable, I love the pop of red, and those H&M booties are so perfect. I wanted to get those, but since I have an abnormal amount of boots, N told me that I couldn’t get them. Sad šŸ™

You look so lovely – that headband looks great on you! I like the combination of red and black, adds a bit of “casual glamour” to an outfit.

I think that the skirt steals the show, just because of how vibrant the red is against the black and the background. Yay autumn (: Hope the rest of your week goes well (:

hehe, yes i thought the title might refer to the headband šŸ™‚

loving the neckline of that top, it’s so flattering! i had a similar top about 15 years ago that i was loath to dispose of right until its last wear – a flattering neck-line & in black can’t fail to make anyone feel fabulous šŸ™‚

Hipster or ballerina or both, you look gorgeous šŸ™‚ Is that one of the sweaters you were wearing on Saturday night, by any chance? I was admiring them both and cursing my allergy to animal fibers šŸ™

You know, ma’am, I do admit to think that you shopped a LOT. Like Fast Food and Fast Fashion and Extra Petite… I love their style, and they really do a good amount of work and research on styles that fit petites and a great deal of extra work for their sites, but they both seem to shop ALL THE TIME. Not that that’s a bad thing, it’s just that shopping that much seems crazy. Of course you don’t seem to shop as much as they, but I was like, she must have a good freelance job or sponsorships and what not, to be able to shop. In which case, I’m like, LUCKY and good job on the hard work.

So now it makes sense. You go shopping, but you don’t necessarily buy. That’s how I am, then. I’m constantly shopping online. I just don’t buy. I hardly buy anything anymore. Well, being unemployed and moving to Hawaii definitely have something to do with it. šŸ™‚

As usual, you look adorable and I love your new hair part. And the hipster headband. You couldn’t be an ironic, trend bucking (yet that’s a trend in itself) hipster even if you tried. You’re too polished and chic for that. You’d need to learn how to be grimy and wear ironic graphic Ts and travel around in a wheel chair, just because. HAHAHA.
