Patch it Up

October 31, 2011

The past weekend was wonderful for a variety of reasons, but a highlight was definitely Sunday afternoon when I convinced David to take me to the pumpkin patch. Unfortunately, I obviously didn’t know what I was in for and my choice of footwear was rather inappropriate for the given situation. Thankfully, David saved the day by inventively making use of some plastic bags for me to wear over my snakeskin loafers. Though everything worked out & we got some laughs out of it, the lesson was definitely learned: next year, wellies!

Wearing: Zara sweater, thrifted blouse, Topshop trousers, Coach bag and jacket (both c/o), DV by Dolce Vita loafers

Haha as soon as I saw the top photo and the words pumpkin patch, I thought “Oh gosh, I wonder what shoes she’s wearing.” I’ve only been once when I was in elementary school, but I’ll never forget the mud.

I’ve never picked pumpkins before. It’s so funny you had to wear plastic bags over your feet.

I have never been to a pumpkin patch, but it looks like a fun activity for a Saturday afternoon. And even in the mud and with plastic bags over your shoes, you manage to still look super stylish and elegant.

You look perfectly autumnal-chic for the pumpkin patch, but yea, definitely wear better shoes next time! Can’t ruin those perfect tootsies, right?

    🙂

FAB pussy bow blouse and vest, darling!

Did you get a haircut? Or did you just part your hair on a different side? I love it, whatever it is.

Hey – question about the loafers. I’ve been eyeing those for a while, but found some reviews online that said they run about half a size small and they are super uncomfortable. What do you think?

Goodness, I knew there was a reason I had never been to a pumpkin patch- so much mud! Still, you look absolutely lovely in your slightly impractical ensemble; I just wish we had gotten a glimpse of the plastic bags you wore over your shoes 🙂 Happy Halloween, my dear!

BAHAHA This post made my whole day, Jen! I would totally do the same and plan for an outfit post with inappropriate footwear. David was smart to make use of those plastic bags to save your shoes! LOVE this outfit so much. It’s a bit of a casual look but still so you. Perfectly put together and very feminine. I’m especially loving that Zara sweater and MAYBE regretting not getting those mustard pants at Top Shop 😛

HAHAH you’re too funny. I would totally have done the same and worn completely inappropriate footwear :/ That’s ok though, you look mighty adorable and David saved the day!

I love how you manage to make all your outfits look so matchy matchy but not at all. I make no sense, but I swear I do!
