Ever come across a designer that speaks right to your aesthetic? So much so that you can’t help but wonder, just a little bit, if the clothes were made for you?

Milly by Michelle Smith is one that hits the mark for me time and time again. Ever since I started having a slight interest in following fashion, which was roughly 5 years ago, her designs have inspired me. Season after season, I always find at least a few looks that I would like to wear right off the runway, styled just as they are.

The prints, the textures, the girlishness, the whimsical nature of her designs (and need I get started on her amazing accessories?!)– I love all of it!

Here are just a few looks from recent shows:

Fall 2010

Resort 2011 – by far the favourite!

Spring 2011

Are there any designers that never fail to impress you, whose clothes which almost feel like they were made with you in mind?

Ahhh this is amazing!! See, to be honest, I just love all designers. I’m not really that in touch with everything, the only reason I would be would be because of blogs! Woohoo thanks for introducing me to Michelle Smith, dang she is talented :)!

This is definitely your style. I love it how simple and bold some pieces are! I am not a fashion follower and I’m bad at names but wow, I am amazed! Btw, thanks for commenting, I am still on the lookout for nude pumps, patent or matte so I can put a few outfits together. Of course with someone taking me. I actually despise that bandage skirt. It really accentuates the curves. Bleh! btw, you are so much smaller than me! Don’t stop inspiring me!

I am inspired as well 🙂 Her style is definite wearable! I love the patterns and the color choices she picks for her line. It’s like work meets play in a not so dramatic way 🙂

That outfit with red tights – I’m not even one for such a bright red but wow, it totally caught my eye. Love the work ensembles too – so classy!

You’re right, I wouldn’t change anything about these! Perfectly styled, so they could really be worn right off the runway! :o)

I can see why you like the designer so much. Her style is very classic but with a refined twist. For me I’ve always loved Zac Posen and all of his chiffon/tulle drapery. They are sometimes a little bit too edgey and far out but the softness gets to me ALL the time.

These clothes are so you! No wonder you love them so much 🙂 Hmm, I’m not sure really what designer is “me”. I do really love LV and Dior, as well as Burberry Prorsum.
