Staged

August 31, 2011

{Photos by Paul Milaire & Roderick Fung}

The flowy skirt is actually part of a vintage dress that belongs to Cara (see her wearing it here). While the piece is gorgeous, the top unfortunately didn’t fit me properly and as a result I had to improvise and wear something over it. It’s a shame I couldn’t do this lovely piece justice, but the skirt in itself is pretty enough to showcase! Paul, Rod and I wandered into this old auditorium and it was too perfect not to use for our location to shoot these photos.

Wearing: Vintage dress (swapped with Cara), H&M sweater (similar in dress version), Zara shoes (similar), Jacob belt (similar)

    Cara has a great sense of style, and I love how you paired a stripe sweater with a maxi accordion pleated skirt! Also, the auditorium was a gorgeous place to take photographs for this outfit!

    There are so many things I love about this post, but before I even start on the look, I have to ask… Where is this auditorium? It’s such a brilliant location for photos and adds a whole new dimension to the ensemble. And you really couldn’t have picked a better high-drama look for your stage debut. Cara’s dress works so well with that striped sweater. It almost looks like a completely different piece. I think this may my favourite lok of yours ever šŸ™‚

    Hi Jen, I stumbled upon your blog just recently and instantly fell in love with it. And I love the fact that you re-use several accessories to create different looks. Because in real life, we simply don’t have seas of shoes & bags to go with our every outfits. Love your photos too. Very well taken šŸ™‚

    I’m really in love with this post. I have a thing with empty chairs and empty stages. I think empty stages are some of the most artistic places to shoot fashion photos, even if it might be something that’s been done before. It certainly isn’t done too much in blogs, thank God!

    Great posts. I need your photographers. Can I borrow them?
