Swing, Swing

July 16, 2014

Wedding season is well on its way, and as a guest in a sea of similar cocktail dresses I feel like it’s always fun to use the opportunity to try something a little bit unusual sartorially. When shopping for wedding guest attire, I tend to find myself veering towards dressier rompers, or frocks that stand out without showing a lot of skin or being too attention grabbing. This vaguely Victorian-inspired Free People dress is just that, with its high neck and a silhouette that’s just different enough… plus the swinging will be perfect on the dance floor!

Wearing: Free People dress (c/o – more dresses here), LOFT minaudière, Celine pumps

Such a sweet dress! I love the high neckline and the soft, swingy pleats! Plus this leaves plenty of room for wine & food! 😉 Looking adorable, girlie! xo.

Free People always surprises me with the occasional amazing piece, like this dress. And it’s great having something versatile enough to wear casually with flats, or dressed up to a wedding. Great pick!

The slate colour of this dress does make it a rather unusual choice for a wedding, dear Jen…but it’s certainly not inappropriate!! In fact, the embroidered detail and breezy shape couldn’t be more party-ready; you look gorgeous!! 🙂
