on the verge of crazy

So many things coming up! Fashion weeks, Valentine's Day, Chinese New Year, and most notably, the 2010 Winter Olympics right here in Vancouver! It's hard not to be distracted amongst all these events and although I am going to be dedicating a significant amount of time to each of these, I really shouldn't be.... four midterms and a project next week! Already know that I am going to be stressed out beyond belief... so posts will probably be fewer and further between (not that this hasn't already been the case). But please keep reading!

Today's outfit: very simple and relaxed, wanted to leave a blank canvas to showcase the bright, patterned dress. I like that the dress seems to have the slightest bit of native influences-- a (very) subtle way of supporting Vancouver for the Olympics, perhaps?

a little nude, a little nautical

Got this BCBGMAXAZRIA trench on sale for $120 (down from $400!). It's no Burberry but it definitely looks classic and easy. It is probably the most 'grown up' coat I have owned thus far. The detailing on it makes me happy. The only problem? It is unlined. I know, right-- a coat that retails for $400 that is unlined?? I guess on the plus-side it might be fun to choose a fabric of my choice to line it if I wanted. Does anyone know how much it would cost to get it lined?

The top was also a steal -- about $17 at H&M. Love that it incorporates the nautical look with puff sleeves.

What do you think of these booties? Paid full price for them at Zara. Not sure about them now, though because they look a little bit chunky for my liking... they were $109+tax. What do you think... keep or sell?

Love the details on this necklace. You probably can't see from the photos, but when I opened the package from ASOS I noticed little alternating silver studs and pale pink rhinestones on a few of the "fans". What a sweet, subtle touch to this season's grey/nude trend, right?

P.S. I am so flattered and happy about the great response to my previous posts! It's so encouraging to hear things from already established bloggers and makes me want to keep on posting. Thank you!

It was a beautiful night so my boyfriend decided to take me outside to take our photos :) I've started becoming a bit more relaxed in front of the camera thanks to his hilarity and patience when it comes to capturing what I am wearing (Thanks sweetheart!).

Scored these studded beauties at Zara the other day for $39.99! I've always wanted a pair of sandals that are a bit more edgy but didn't want to spend too much on something that is as trendy as these are. The price was right for these and I actually think they will be incorporated into my outfits more than I initially thought they would be.

The dress is from Zara in Barcelona when I went this summer. Can I say that the Zara stores in Europe trump the ones we have in Vancouver by far?! Oh well.. I am thankful for the two we have and their never-failing providing of affordable, fashionable items.

Oh, one more thing. This Teenflo boyfriend blazer was purchased 3 summers ago on a whim in a consignment shop for $35! It is 44% wool (warm!), fully lined with single button closure. I almost didn't buy it because I was looking for one for a presentation and it was a bit big. Something told me to buy it anyway, and good thing I did. Who knew that it would become my most-loved and worn boyfriend blazer.
