Green Thumb

These high-waisted shorts from Zara make me happy. The buttons and cuffed bottoms are such great little details and the fact that they are loose fitting and oh so forgiving makes them the perfect summer short.

I tried to stay away from the mall since I'm trying not to shop until I go to Orlando in May (does anyone know where the good shopping is, by the way?) but I couldn't resist going into H&M to check out the Garden Collection!

The pieces just screamed feminine, pretty and dainty. I gave up on my shopping ban and tried to restrict myself to one piece.

Well, that restriction didn't work out so well either. But the prices were so reasonable and I'm so excited about these dresses!

Here's what I ended up with: the rosette dress (in black) and the blue cascading ruffle dress (can't wait to wear it with camel coloured accessories!)

If you haven't, you should definitely go check it out! What do you all think of this collection? Favourite pieces? Have you gotten anything?

Unabashedly Girly

If you think I look super tired in these photos, that's because I am-- I had about 3 hours of sleep last night thanks to nothing but myself for pure procrastination. Haha. I had a small assignment that should have taken two hours at most and somehow it dragged out to 8.

In The Air

by Jen on Friday, March 19, 2010

Since we switched our clocks last week, we've noticed such an apparent change in the weather. The fact that it stays bright until well after 6 (these photos were taken at about half past 5) is such a nice change to the 4pm nights we're so used to in the winter.

I found this skirt at Winners (Canadian equivalent of TJ Maxx, maybe?) the other day! It was definitely an unexpected find as I usually go there for the shoes. I adore the flaring out of the hem and of course the print.

Oh, and please excuse the paleless of my legs... I don't naturally tan much and I spent my last summer on a missions trip in which I wore long pants so I didn't get a chance.

P.S. Remember my peacock dress from last post, and how I said it had a Forever 21-esque quality about it? Well, guess what... the dress that I paid over $70 for (yes, the exact dress, down to the placement of the feathers!), showed up on the Forever 21 website a few days after I bought it... for a mere $27! Nothing I could do about it now, but can you imagine! I also found flats at this said boutique that were selling in India for 200 rupees (about $5) selling for $110! Needless to say I won't be stopping in there much anymore.

Paris, Je T'aime

by Jen on Saturday, March 6, 2010

What am I doing at home on a Saturday night? Curled up on the couch in an oversized cashmere sweater, drinking green tea, happily munching on junk food of all sorts and daydreaming about love with a bit of help from Paris Je T'aime.

Love and Sunshine

I'd like to introduce you to my boyfriend, i.e. the photographer of my posts and the subject of many of my ramblings. He is wonderful! We took a short drive to a small town with some friends the other day and in photographing me for the blog, we also got a few great ones of the two of us.

I love these tights. They make me feel so girly! And these bright, sunshine-y heels were purchased on clearance last summer.

By the way, in response to Petite Asian Girl's question about who is authoring which post:
When we initially started this blog, we intended for both of us to write on it. However, Joanne has been a bit hesitant to begin her stint (though I am continually trying to persuade her!). Therefore, it has only been me (Jen) who has been authoring these posts.
