I am excited to announce that the winner of the Harriet Grey necklace is.. Michelle of Always Overdressed! Congratulations, lucky girl! I'm really happy she won! I have always enjoyed her style and she is super sweet. I'm also sure that she will style it amazingly well (and I hope she shares it with us!)

For those of you who didn't win, not to worry... I have been keeping my eye out for another great piece for a future giveaway :)

Quick outfit today... basically what I wore to work, but swapped the pencil skirt with shorts and accessorized it a bit for the photos. I realize now looking at the photos that I went kind of overboard with the accessorizing... but please bear with me. I went to the optometrist today and they put these drops in my eyes that dilate my pupils... and I couldn't really see properly for a few hours (also why I am wearing sunglasses)! Haha!

By the way, some of your comments in my previous post got me wondering. Since a few of you said that the outfit would be perfect for work, I wanted to ask: do you ever wear shorts (as short as these) to work? I've never done it myself and don't think I would, but am curious as to how you ladies feel about it.

p.s. If you are into this kind of thing, the reason why some of my photos look so freaking cool is because my dad got a new digital slr... and my boyfriend borrowed his sweet lens to shoot with :)

Wearing: H&M leopard print blouse and "pearl" polka dot cardigan, Zara shorts and pumps, ASOS ring, Marc Jacobs sunnies, chiffon flower taken from a dress

I totally want those two tops now! I have a question, how do you maintain the "pearls" esp. when you wash them? PLease do more vids on how to use the same pieces but with different looks. You're a pro at accessorizing!

Out of bias... I have to say that I love the leopard print since I also have it.
But other than that, I think you're accessorizing is fantastic!

Congratulations to the winner! I also have to agree that you didn't over accessorize at all. =0D I'm going to dieeeee, those blush pumps are so adorable!

Your photos look great and you look amazing! I love this outfit, esp the leopard print, shorts and your accessories. That ring is awesome! I'm not allowed to wear shorts to work, it's against our dress code and yes, we actually have a dress code. I tried once with bermuda shorts and that was frowned upon. So ever since, it's either knee-length skirts or dress pants. Oh! I did try harem pants once but my manager gave me a funny look haha so I took that as a no-go.

I wish we could wear shorts to work though, it's so much more comfy and you don't have to worry about the way you sit! lol

I haven't worn shorts to work yet, but I definitely could, they have a very casual atmosphere and what I usually wear is dressy compared to them XD
I don't know if I would though, but its so cute!! :D

Love this outfit! Especially the flower :)

I haven't worn shorts to work - I work in a really casual environment but I think the shorts I have would be too short for work.

Love the combo of the leopard blouse and pearl cardi!! those nude pumps are gorgeous too! you always style your outfits perfectly :)

have never worn shorts to work and I'm not sure if I'd be that adventurous since mine are a little on the short side ;)

Boooo.. there goes my chance of winning the lovely necklace :( hahaha.. totally kidding :) Congrats to Michelle! I'm also happy that she won :)

I've been looking for that leopard blouse everywhere! I need to venture out to a smaller H&M stores, hopefully they'll still have it in stock SOMEWHERE!

As for shorts for work, I'm still debating about this as well. I was thinking of wearing shorts to work this morning (bermuda style) but I changed my mind and swapped them for a skirt (which was shorter!) I guess it's not so much about the length but the "casual" vibe that shorts have. I consider a skirt to be more "profesh" even when the length is 4 inches above my knees :p I'll try wearing the shorts tomorrow and see what my coworkers have to say about them :D

aww yayayayay! i won! Thanks so much for the giveaway :)
I love the leopard print shirt in an all black outfit and those shoes are just perfect and subtle enough for this outfit.

I dont think I've ever worn shorts to work just because my shorts are usually way too short. but I know that every once in a while my skirt can be too short for work..and i would end up feeling self conscious and try to stay in my chair all day haha.
it's hard to dress for work and still feel chic/stylish. and I always feel like I have the rest of my life to wear pencil skirts and dressy shirts/business like outfits. but I won't be able to wear cute skirts and floral dresses and short shorts when I'm 35. I definitely push the limits when it comes to dressing "appropriately" for work. no one has complained so I will continue...haha

anyways longest comment ever! have a great day Jen!

Wow you've got me really curious about what industry you work in.. I've never heard of anyone being able to wear shorts to work! Although everyone I know works in an office or does consulting..

by sophia on August 11, 2010 at 5:04 PM. #

Love your outfit! That mix of polka dots and leopard print is so cool and I don't think over accessorized as the flower is black so it kinda blends into the background.

I definitely wear shorts to work! However my office is quite casual and I try to offset it with tights, and/or a very modest top. Oh and no heels as that would just make the outfit a bit too sexy.

Love the sexy leopard print with a lady-like pearl cardi! So cute! Love it! I think I might need to try that cardigan on soon...I saw it in the store, but it looks so much better on you!
