Detailed

Banana Republic top, Wilfred shorts, Coach bag

Whenever someone is helping me take photos, I always ask them to take a "detail" shot: I like the way they saturate the photo with the interesting parts in an outfit and show the mix of colours and textures. As summer draws to a close, here are some detail shots from some of my favourite looks this summer as well as a few that have never made it on to the blog.

Zara dress, Ferragamo belt, necklace from The Bay | original post here

Forever 21 cardigan, H&M blouse, Club Monaco belt, Cacharel shirt, MICHAEL Michael Kors bag

J. Crew cardigan, Talula oxford, H&M skirt (similar) | original post here

David's shirt, Forever 21 skirt, mom's belt

Modcloth blouse, Wilfred shorts, clutch from Sharon | original post here

Zara dress, Wilfred belt (similar), H&M hat, bag from local boutique

  18. Sometimes I think the detail shots are better than the actual full-length ones! Plus they're easier for us bloggers to take b/c then we don't have to put on "cool" facial expressions haha

  19. I'm always a big fan of detail shots! But the fact that you put some of them together it makes it look so artsy! I love it.

  22. Jen, my love. I haven't left a comment for a while, but know that I stalk you everyday. tee hee. :)

I love your detailed shots. I think it something all fashion bloggers should do, especially when they don't have a fancy schmancy camera. I'm guilty of that. So, that's why I always try to include a close up shot, since you can't really see the "details" in the head to toe shot.

You're lucky you have a lot of people that love you and willingly take photos for you... and fabulous photos all the time too! I wish I lived near, so I could "hire" them to be my photog too. LOLS. I kid. The hubbs does a great job, even with my little crappy P+S.

Well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. We're throwing a little bday party for my dad tomorrow. Time to get my grub on. :)

    Kisses.

  25. Your detail shots are all so lovely... There really are so many subtle layers of colour and texture in your looks that can't be done complete justice unless you get a close up :)

  30. Your photographers definitely have it down. My designer/photographer husband still can't figure it out. Makes me sad.
