Feeling Classic

by Jen on Tuesday, January 8, 2013

In the process of learning to define and refine my style over the years, I have especially enjoyed discovering the no-fail items that instantly me feel good... regardless of whatever else I'm wearing. On the top of that list, personally, are accents of red, gold and leopard. I think that finding & investing in (and borrowing, as in the case of my mother's Ferragamo bag above) your own fail-safe items are some of the wisest things to do sartorially. "Simply put, these items make me feel classic. And there is no substitute for feeling this way." - Nina Garcia

I could not agree more, Jen!! Both with your overall sentiment, and with you specific examples - red, gold & leopard are at the top of my no-fail list as well! Your mother's bag is gorgeous & I don't blame you one bit for wanting to steal...er... borrow! ;) & I have the same leopard iphone case! Love it!

It's great that you've come to know and define your own style. What an achievement - it is something I am striving to do this year. Those pieces work so well together and alone that they just exhume style and class. Your Mum has amazing taste!

I agree with you Jen as well. We need to make wise choices and invest in pieces that will never date and make us feel classic and wonderful every time we put them on!

I agree with you! its so true! some items you have just instantly make a bad day into a good day. One of mine is leopard print as well. And when I put on red lipstick I instantly feel a confidence boost xo

Completely agree!! Especially if I'm splurging on an item (like Louboutins) I'll always pick a classic item that I can wear forever!!

Love classic pieces! (And I totally agree with your take on Red, Gold and Leopard being the classics!). I hope you can borrow/take your mother's beautiful ferragamo bag out a lot more! I do the same with my mom's classic purses as well. Love it!

Your style is so classic and chic; red, gold and leopard always comes to mind when I think of your style. Your mom's Ferragamo bag is to-die-for, I hope she lets you keep it!

Very well put. I agree that finding fail-safe items makes me feel classic. Mine is very similar to yours, minus the leopard. ;)

I'm with you! There hasn't been a lot in my closet that has stood the test of time, but the pieces that have have been the classics. Always beautiful and put together! Love your leopard case, btw ;)
