I purchased this jacket/vest on a whim last year, and it unfortunately became one of those items that was worn once (seen here) and never again. In another attempt to expand the variety of silhouettes that I am wearing and to not let anything in my closet go to waste, I took off the "cape" portion of the piece off and wore it as a simple vest. I love how drastically different of a feel it now gives off and it was ideal for a casual day of food truck lunching and a little bit of shopping.

Wearing: YesStyle blouse, labeless trench vest (wore it with attached cape here), J Brand jeans, Zara pumps, Tom Ford sunnies, Wilfred belt, BCBG cuff

Purchases on a whim are the best. Love how you belted the jacket.

I wouldn't have been able to tell that it's the same item - it looks great without the cape (and with, obviously). I like how you added the leopard belt for a bit of detail. Oh and that bag is beyond beautiful!

This is so cute, Jen! I absolutely LOVE the vest/trench! I have been searching for a long vest for ages now, but haven't had any luck! Love how it pulls together an outfit! Love that you paired it with a leopard print belt, and the shoes, of course, are perfection! xo!

The first shot is AAAAAAHMAZING! So jealous of your outfits lately. I can't seem to wear anything but my huge winter parka :( Hope you had a great weekend, Jen! :)

That's so great that the cape part is removable - I love both ways to wear it, actually. Where's the little purse from? It's so cute.

Jen, that is such a versatile piece. I thought I loved it with the cape attached, but I love it even more as a vest!!! And with it cinched at the waist with a pop of leopard is the icing on the cake. :) Um, and that bag.... magnificent! Is it vintage? I adore it.

Oooo food truck lunching! YUM. When you're in Hawaii, we'll hit up the Kahuku shrimp truck (Oahu) together. Best shrimp evaaaarrr! Hurry, come on over!! hee hee.

Here's to a fabulous week, Jen.

What an intriguing piece! I'm also in the process of trying to rewear things that I bought on a whim and haven't given proper attention to, but I doubt I have anything as unique as this trench vest. Beautifully styled as always :)
