Raw

by Jen on Thursday, November 17, 2011

This past weekend, David and I got in touch with our inner artists in a perfectly unique space. Raw Canvas has been open in our city (and opening soon in Toronto) for several years now, and we decided that it would be the ideal spot for our Saturday night date. After a glass of Shiraz & a slice of organic chocolate cake, we chose a canvas, put on our smocks and set out to paint. The atmosphere was inviting and relaxed, complete with an 'in-house artist' giving pointers & suggestions. At the end of the night, we brought home our very own "masterpiece". I can't wait to proudly display our first piece of art created together!

{our not-quite-done piece. I'm planning on strategically adding gold leaf to parts of it then hanging it horizontally over my bed!}
Many thanks to Matthew & Melody at Raw Canvas, who kindly invited us in to paint and provided the canvas. Visit their website for prices, location & all other information!

I've never heard of Raw Canvas before, that would be such a cute date spot! I should drag N along sometime, though we're both pretty artistically challenged, so I'm not sure we could manage to create something as stunning as yours.

I can't wait to see the final final FINAL results! :)

I love that you went for wine and DIY art. I love that idea. I haven't had a headboard for 5 years, so I'm really interested to see what you do with it.

Can't wait to see !!!

What a fun evening, and it's nice to see you in something splattered and crazy. LOL! I wonder if we'll ever get to see you in sneakers? :)
